How to repair engine ticking knocking noise
    04 Toyota 4runner sr5v6. 200k milestone.
She runs li like a CHAMP all power, no check engine light no codes. Just this annoying ticking knocking that I cannot resolve.
I read that from lots of people that it's normal, but I dont believe its normal. Its noisy when on idle. Has anyone accomplished repairs? Would like to solve this problem.
Thanks a head to all u toy lovers.

Pretty sure your ticking is injectors, I have a ticking sound at idle but it goes away while driving and I cannot hear in in the cab. Mine is a 2007 V6 with 230k miles

ticking is caused primarily by the vacuum switching valve, or vsv, thats the loudest tick you hear

Actually found a topic that has no answers on the internet, or forums. On my 03 4runner, I am trying to find where the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) is located, and any tips on replacing it. Is ok to use a 'Used' module, or spend money for a new one. Thanks in Advance. :)

I’m fairly sure it’s behind the glovebox next to the tpms ecu.

    none yet
ticking could be a cracked exhaust manifold, especially if the ticking subsides when motor is hot.

Was the HVAC control module removed? There’s a plug on the back that has to be connected.
