I was going to buy one of those a few years ago, but decided to replace my old 4runner instead. I might get one once the 4runner is paid off. Such good looking cars!

I don’t have too many miles yet on my 4R.
The best can mean so many things :)

Most reliable ? Maybe my trusty old 1991 Buick Roadmaster. That thing refused to die.
Most fun? 2015 Mustang convertible. A total riot.

Best? Tough to say. I really enjoy my current GXP, but for a car that I absolutely never had a bad thing to say about, a 2008 Crown Vic that was an ex-PA State Police car. It had the street appearance package, was burgundy with full wheel covers and I bought it 3 days before my daughter was born. Drove my daughter every day to the sitter and eventually pre-K and with studded winter tires was nearly unstoppable. Shortage of space in our driveway, nearing 200k miles, and wanted something a little less "roll of the dice" for driving my children around in. Car owed me not a damn thing. I was a wreck when I sold it and my Caprice. Loads of memories surrounding both of them, but always excited to make new ones and happy that my daughter could at least see how much cars and trucks mean to her dad. My son I don't think knew what was even going on

    Thanks for reading hahah

Had 2 that I really like and very reliable.
    1992 Honda Civic SI hatchback
    2001 Honda Prelude SI
wish I still had both but if I could only choose one it would probably be the hatchback.

My first car was my best car - 1988 Mustang GT - never once broke down on me - the only time it was ever "down" was when I was upgrading it, lol.
Second best (for now) 2006 Wrangler - I foresee my current 4runner being my 2nd best vehicle though.

First car - handed down 87 Chrysler LeBaron 2.2T. When I got it, it had no heat, a cracked block, and thanks to a boulder I drove over, a bent front stabilizer bar that kept craking lower control arms. I really have no idea how I didn't die in that car. Sold it for $200 bucks just to be rid of it.

First car I bought - 1996 Ford Ranger Splash Extended Cab 2WD. Horrible in snow, great everywhere else. 5MT and the only power options were steering and mirrors. Funny story as 9 years after I sold it, I was walking to my car in a parking lot, it was parked next to me. I knew it from the dented rear bumper (I backed into a parked MP vehicle) and the scratch on the corner of the cab from an animal trap. I was so proud of that truck. But being young and stupid led me to a few really bad car decisions including a 93 Ford Probe GT, 97 Blazer, and a 2000 Civic (which was a great car, but had to trade it in and take a bath due to a divorce).

Fondest memories - 2003 VW Jetta 1.8T GLS 5MT. It had every option but leather. I absolutely loved this car. Sold it around 100K miles because I wanted a Tacoma.

2009 Tacoma TRD OR, extended cab, 6MT - At the time of purchase, it was perfect. It was just me and my dog. I had plans of getting a top and building a sleeping platform and storage in the back for travels and adventure, but I met my wife 3 months after buying. It had a horribly loud interior, felt like I had to fight it to keep it above 55 mph, and would only get about 16-17mpg. Sold it because I got married, had 2 step daughters, a dog, and we planned on having another baby. All plans of adventure stopped here for many years. Sold my 2012 V-Strom 650 and traded this in for my first new vehicle.

First new vehicle - 2013 F150 XLT Supercrew Ecoboost - Owned this for 75,000 trouble free miles. I used to travel a lot for work and have had long term rentals of Silverados, Rams, and F150s. I liked the F150 the best. Drove my daughter home from the hospital in this one. Drove her to pre-school or picked her up everyday. She used to sit in the back at 2-3 years old and say, "Look, Daddy! There's a truck just like yours." Sold it to get into a cheaper, more economical car and pay off some debt. I have a lot of emotional attachment to this one because of my daughter.

2013 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDi DSG - Absolutely phenomenal car, at least in my opinion. It was one of the VW dieselgate buy backs that they updated the software and sold as a CPO with 34K on it. Only problem I had was the HPFP ate itself, but that was a warranty repair. Everyone else in the house hated being seen in it, or even riding in it (except my youngest - she's cool). I got 50 mpg on one road trip. As the oldest daughter moved out, the middle daughter became a raging teenager and wants nothing to do with hanging out with the rest of us, my youngest loves camping and hiking, and I wanted to renew my interest in vehicle based adventures, it was time to move on after a couple gloriously reliable years.

2020 4Runner TRD OR - I decided on a 4R for too many reasons to list. I checked out a GX 460, but just didn't care for it that much (and in the back of my mind knew I really wanted a 4R). I looked at CPOs, but they were just only $1K less than what I knew I could get a new one for. So, we went new. My only regret is that I didn't get a ORP and KDSS, but I'm not going to trade in for those. My youngest and I have already gone on numerous trail rides in western NC, camped a few times out of or in it, and enjoyed quite a bit of family time. She already knows it will be her car when she turns 16 (ten years from now) and she is pumped about it. Will this one be the best? I don't know. I'm just under 6K miles, but I expect this to be the most drop dead reliable as an anvil vehicle I will ever own.

Since I'm less than 2 years and only 16.5k miles into my 4Runner, it's too early to make the cut. I'm confident it will eventually become my #1.

Current #1: 2010 VW Jetta TDI. Lifetime fuel economy was over 40 mpg. Best tank was 54 mpg. Made it past 750 miles on that tank, and probably could have hit 800 miles, but I was on a trip with my wife and didn't want to risk running out of fuel. Bought it new for $25k out the door, drove it to 120k miles, and then VW bought it back for almost $15k. Dieselgate....

I had never driven a Nismo. I bought mine brand new April 2011, I had to pay full price because of the earthquake and tsunami that happened in Japan.

2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. God, I loved that vehicle. It was my daily driver, and have a ton of great memories and good times. It was with me when my fiancee and I bought our house and started moving stuff in, a short while later it had "Just Married" scrawled all over it as my Wife and I drove away from the church. Damn near cried, and my Wife had to drag me away from it when I finally had to trade it in a couple of years later for my Jeep Patriot. *laughs* Yeah, I definitely had an emotional attachment to that damn vehicle.

    I know this feeling!

When I traded in my '03 4runner for my '15 Tacoma, I was super excited about the new (to me) truck.

But, when it was time to leave the old 4runner behind, I just sat there and looked at it and thought about everything I had been through with that vehicle. It was genuinely difficult to leave without it.

I obviously missed it because I traded the Tacoma in for a 4runner less than 2 years later. I sure hope this new one can do justice to that one!

My dad and I have driven a 92 Silverado, a 96 Blazer and a 2001 Yukon all over 200,000 miles and I’m pretty sure the only thing we ever had to replace was an alternator and an AC condenser. I lived in that Yukon for a few years and drove it all over the country.

I Just bought a 2012 4Runner with over 140,000 miles and I really hope in 10 years I can say that it is/was the best car I ever owned.

It's funny, every so often I think about selling my 4R and getting into one of those GMT800's. (00-06 Yukon/Tahoe/Burb) I really like them, and they actually have the potential for some cool builds. Also, I love me some LS V8!

They would have great potential as an overland rig, due to the extra space. You'd be a little more prone to trail rash, but probably no biggie on a dedicated trail rig. The biggest disadvantage would be breakover angle with that wheel base. And, the extra weight.

Yeah, there's actually a company that outfits them for overland use, Suboverland. They do some cool builds. Pretty much like Toyota builds, haha, 2" Bilstein lift and 33" tires, plus interior mods.

No matter what I have, I always have ideas for something else, haha. Main reason I want the GM truck other than the V8 is that I think I can pretty much buy 3 of them for what my 4R is still worth. The thought of picking up one of these and putting the remaining 10k in the bank is appealing, I'm trying to save for a house (and to eventually relocate to buy since the northeast is out of control). I paid my 4R off in Nov, so now it's just looking like a pile of underutilized cash to me.

From what I've read about the GM's they're mostly pretty stout, though I may need to carry an extra transmission with me haha.

They make a 2500 Burb, which comes with the 6.0 or 8.1L engine and a stouter transmission and differentials, so that may be worth looking into just for reliability, though probably overkill as I don't plan on doing any towing. I think the 8.1L is rated to tow like 11k lbs. Like you said though, that Suburban wheelbase is a killer for breakover. I looked it up, it's only 2.6" longer than a DCSB Tacoma, so it's not THAT bad.

    Decisions, Decisions.

Oh man! I had a new 1986 GT and a new 1989 GT and 2007 GT, all bought new. Loved those cars. My 2007 was a trooper... owned it for 12 years with just standard upkeep. Now... best and favorite... 2013 GT500!

I would have loved a 4 eyed fox, but couldn't find any at the time. My car was excellent and never broke down, however, I did replace the entire drivetrain and suspension (upgraded it for my own enjoyment, lol). I almost bought a 2008 GT at one point, but decided against it, I dump way to much money into my cars, lol.

My last Fox body Mustang... the '89 (a little shammy/drying help from my young son!)
