Yeah as I said, you can't take it with you. As long as the kids are getting spoiled and you max out your retirement then screw it. I refuse to be the richest guy in the nursing home with the state slowly draining away my cash.

Theres the future truck. Don't have a great pic of the 4runner handy. I'm going from an 18 Power Wagon. Just don't use it like a power wagon should be used and I can't tow what I'd like to tow with it. Moving to a bigger motor and a 10 speed will be nice. I will miss the Wagon though. It's a sick ass truck. I did manage to find a pic of the runner. It now is leveled and has black rails. He who dies with the most toys......

Fk evoboosts. 7.3 gasser. I couldn’t justify the extra 10,000 for a diesel and I don’t tow that much.

It has nothing to do with how much you make or even what you can afford :ohsnap:
Its all about how much can they make off of you so next time you purchase something on credit or finance it think about that :oldglory:

Same here! I refuse to pay interest unless I absolutely had to. I'm retired, but my vehicles are paid for.
Other than my mortgage, loans are not a part of my life. It will stay that way. If I cannot afford to pay cash, then I can't afford it, period.!

Yes...the honest ones who manage their money right are rich with wisdom and keep their priorities in the right order.
    Rich isn't always about money.

Paying interest doesn't make much sense to me either. I've always driven decent older vehicles. I like older vehicles better than most the newer ones and I can work on them for the most part.

I have a credit card and a debit card. The CC is only for emergencies, should they arise, and even then, it gets paid in full when the bill arrives. It is sedom used, and only to maintain a heathy credit rating, which I have. Debit is just eisier than carrying cash...a convenience. Even then, I usually run the Debit as credit. It is safer that way, as I have had a couple fraudulent hits on it in the past.
Sorry, this does not answer the OP's original question, however, I DO believe it is relevent because your income does not matter, if you manage it smartly.

I'm honest. Managing my money "right" is debatable. I use my money to enjoy life, so I think I'm doing ok. I'm definitely not one to take financial advice from. But, I'm having fun.

Being responsible with your money is great. But, you have to enjoy life, too. That's what money is for.

    I can imagine it's a good feeling!

I spent the last few years accumulating debt. I'll spend the next few working towards being debt free.

There's definitely a part of me that admires people who have the discipline to live within their means. Unfortunately it's not as loud as the part of me that wanted to get a 4Runner and make it my own.

The good part is that I'm getting my money's worth out of it. Travelling and exploring the last few years has been an experience that money can't replace. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I definitely do not feel superior or smarter than anyone who finances anything and pays the interest. If your income allows it, then enjoy life to the fullest.
I might add that I am married to an accountant who has convinced me, and taught me well. That is why I am where I'm at financially, and don't regret a minute of it. I do not want to pay unnecessary money to anyone, even if I can afford to.

yearly income and net worth are two different factors. Not gonna share exact numbers here, but I'll say that my yearly income is not super-impressive but looking at debt/assets, I'm pretty solid. I had no guilt at all buying my 4Runner especially since I'll drive it a minimum of 10 years and probably will keep it in the family for at least another 10.

Exactly. Net worth is what matters. You can have millioneres with income less than 100k. How come? Because they didn't waste their money and saved it.
