    I’m not sure I follow. I have a desirable car. If I sold it today, I would get about what I paid for it. But to replace it, I’d need to pay about twenty grand MORE. That’s the increase in Model year cost plus the almost 20k in dealer mark up. On top of that, I’d pay all the tax and license again.

    Granted, it’s not a 4Runner. But runners are in short supply which means dealers aren’t dealing like it’s the end of the quarter. Someone else will pay.

    A better way to look at it is you’re getting high dollar for your trade. Period.

    I am not experiencing what you are describing. My dealer is selling at MSRP. I’m not going to discuss the deal other than the little bit of information I already posted.

    All I can say is good for you because most mfg are experiencing shortages that translate into fewer cars on the lot and higher prices. Especially for used vehicles.
