    bridgestone revo 3 5100's @2.5/1.5. Stock springs & rear daystar 1.5" spacers
    Hello,

Having owned both a 3rd gen tacoma and 17 4runner at the same time i am happy to say i have ditched the tacoma. The straw that broke the camels back was toyota refusing to do the TSB transmission flash after getting corporate involved only to find out a week later my neighbor with a 3rd gen pro got his TSB no questions asked. I traded it in that weekend for a brand new camry SE and the wife is loving it. I now drive the 17 4runner sr5 premium. So far it had bridgestone revo 3s and I just recieved my 5100s via Amazon today. Just need to order a 1" rear spacer and so far it looks like cornfed it the only option for a 1" rear spacer. Planning on going 1.75 in the front. This will give me the exact same lift height i had on my tacoma with 265s.

hope to hear from you all as i am going to post a question in the suspension area about the rear spring spacer.

    Thanks!

He’s being a typical Pro owner and thumbing his nose at anything but another Pro owner. I think the part where you said you’d post a question about the spacer.

I’m not overly familiar with spacers for the rear spring but if it’s anything like replacing the springs it’s a matter of dropping the axle enough to loosen the spring and get the spacer in there. Do you know if it sits on the top of the spring or bottom?

I must have posted on the wrong thread. I was suggesting YouTube the instructions on how to lift the rear of a 4runner.

Oh and welcome op I still venture over to Tacoma world as I still have a 2nd gen.

But do you have an electric passenger seat in that pro? That was my wife's deciding factor between the ORP vs the PRO. Plus if your dyslexic like me the ORP reads PRO. lol :).

Technically, it’s not a lift kit and the OR’s and Pro’s have the same ground clearance. Its just a shiny, expensive suspension.

I have electric seats in my SR5 Premium. I used them once right before I drove off the lot. Haven't touched them again since. Now the heated seats I used daily when it was cold out.

Traded in the 4 runner recently. THANK YOU PANDEMIC FOR OVER INFLATING THE VALUE OF MY 4 RUNNER!!! WOO HOO!
Had stoopid good amount of equity due to this. Traded for a 21 TRD off road premium. Couldn't be happier. Mileage Reset button from 70k miles to 4 miles

You missed the part where he demanded "and got corporate involved" and that it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Oh. And I think he missed the similarities and even tho he "jumped ship", he really didn't.

How are people getting “good deals” trading in a used 4runner for a new 4runner? Both new and used prices are up. So, isn’t it kind of a wash?

Yeah the market value of your used 2019 might be the same as what you paid for it. But the new ones are $3-4k more than what you paid when you got yours new.

It’s not that I don’t believe people. I’m genuinely curious as to how this works.

    All of them.
To answer your question about the rear spacer you’ll ubolt the lower shock bolts on the rear and the sway bar end links for mostly full drop. With the Frame on stands and jack under the rear diff lower the rear diff enough to pull the springs. Put the spacer on top of the springs and either bolt it onto the internal bumps or just make sure it’s centered (bolt is only on some brands) then put the spring back in jack the diff back in place and re install sway bar end links lower shocks and wheels. Pay yourself on the back you did it. In a month from the day you install these do the same process all over again because you wanted a heavier spring to handle what you’re going to put in the rear.

Normally you buy a car and it deprecates period. Today that’s a different story. Imagine buying a 2017 4 runner in 2016 and it’s almost paid off as you reach the 5 year mark. But now it’s worth more than what you paid. Shit ton of equity. Dump all that equity 30+ k into a new 4 runner. Finance for 36 months and have a payment under 250.00

it’s like refinancing a house….except you get a new house.

now if the pandemic never happened my 4Runner trade in would be 12k less than it was now. Other factors came into play. How about a cracked windshield that is on back order with no ETA and you are driving around like that for months still waiting on a windshield. What else is unavailable? I’ll be Able to make it out of this damned pandemic shortage of everything and not have to worry about much. It’s a personal decision. Not everyone would do this especially if one is a bean counter which I for sure 100% am not.
