    Thanks for the report!
Each filter has it's ups and downs.
Stock: filters the best but restricts the most. Afe PRO dry S restrict less, filters contaminants close to OEM but the dust holding capabilities are lower (you can verify this at Afe's website) but with a vacuum cleaner they say you restore it to 99%, of course you need to clean it on the dirty side. It think is not good to blow air from the clean side as compressed air will damage the media. Last we have the K&N that will let in the most air and most contaminants.
Afe points out like the good sweet spot.
It would be interesting that you maintain a log and determine at which miles driven the Afe MPGs start to decline, clean it with a vacuum cleaner and check if it restores to like new performance.
Just an idea, are you willing to continue the experiment?

I really liked my Donaldson Power Core. I wasn't going for and extra 5 horse power though...I wanted exceptional cleaning ability in fine dust. I agree, I wish they had one for our Runners

Anyone else have a small gap between the upper and lower lids of the air box back by the two rear clips closest to the engine? Noticeable if you have a filter like Wix with an orange seal. Just noticed it when I installed a Wix filter this evening.

I believe the air box actually seals to the filter internally on the “fence” in the upper lid.
