Take a look at BudBuilt as well. They offer a flat slider with fill plates as well. Ours are angled and we love them (and probably use them a little to much haha). They use threaded holes etc that are in the frame already and wrap around the frame in the back. Our 5yr old uses them as "steps" to get in as well. Not the best step but we were looking for protection first, step second. Flat would be better as a step but I can recommend them from a quality perspective. (same goes for their skids, we are Fully-Plated from front to rear with the exception of the control arms, still looking for control arm skids that work with the KDSS)

We offer those as well just not advertised. Heck we have one set being made right now 0* with fill plates it's one in the few hundred sets we've done recently. The "why bother" response you got is probably because flat vs 15* there is really not a noticable difference in how much the slider sticks out or ease of egress and ingress using them as a step. When people talk to me about it I go over it all with them. Typically they will stick with the 15* and once they are on and using them I get a message saying they don't know why they were considering different. Until you have used both, built both, and put both on and had them side by side (which most people don't) then it's hard to give someone good information so they can make an informed decision weighing all the differences.

I appreciate the information, thank you. I guess if someone wants a 0° slider from SOS, they would have to know to ask, as I did not see that option on your 5th Gen slider ordering page...

Considering it's less than 1% of our orders then yes they would have to ask. We get a lot of people ask but not many actually order that way. We've eliminated a lot of extra stuff that is very rarely ordered just streamlines things. It never hurts to shoot companies a message about stuff when it comes to these sorts of things. You'd be surprised at what's not on websites but can get done. It's not like Amazon.

There's a difference in companies that offer stuff like this, you have some like ours which are more "fab shop" style then you have the "big box" type. The fab shop will be willing to do different things big box what you see is what you get on their website.

OP has been missing since May 16, 2017 it looks like. Everyone post the armors here and I will either make a new thread or try to get control of this one to keep the Original post as a List of links etc. I will try to keep a current coupon code etc. with the link/pics as well. :boink: @victoryrunner @ovrlndkull and anyone else that is on here! I am doing tons of looking/research for our 5th gen bumpers and may as well help others with what I am coming up with.

Side note: @victoryrunner as soon as we scrape up the $$ for the bumper and winch we are ordering the Strike without the tube. I think that one is a homerun. Doesnt look like an "afterthought" in my opinion. Do you know if it will work with the Smittybilt X20 (98510) or the Warn VR EVO 10-S (103253)? Thanks

Thank you! We appreciate that! We wanted to retain as much of the factory look/grill as possible, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Yes, either of those winches should work.

Thanks for the tag! I'll post some of our armor here in one post so I'm not spamming this whole thread with posts.

Hey everyone, I’m Cam from Victory 4x4! We are a manufacturer located in Michigan. We operate out of 32,000sqft. We do all of our cutting, bending, welding, and powder coating in house. Some of you might know our sister company, JcrOffroad, which has made Jeep armor for almost 16 years.
We have tons of products currently available for the 5th Gen but will continue to come out with new products, so follow along on our prototype thread as well! https://www.4runners.com/threads/victory-4x4-new-product-prototyping.8756/page-6

We have front integrated winch bumpers (steel & aluminum), our new front Strike full bumper (steel & aluminum), full skid system, roof racks, factory roof rail crossbars, storage panels, two rock slider options, and our new Strike modular rear bumper & carrier system, and a lot more! I'll post a few photos below. Check out our website and let me know if you have any questions.

I gotta say I'm impressed with that @victoryrunner rear bumper and interesting slider light concept. The front bumper without the bars is super clean and might even work with the TSS radar. These guys must be kinda new because I've been around a little while and I haven't seen them for long.

It will work with TSS! We've been in the Toyota market for a few years now, but making offroad armor for close to 20!

I am going to do a full armor thread, front to rear, I think listing manufacturers alphabetically. I am going to yank pics etc off Manufactures websites :hattip:

Say, anyone know who sells a filler piece that might fit over an SOS full front bumper? I thought Shrockworks sold one, but it no longer appears on their website.
I'm also looking for a washer res skid that will be used for the same bumper, so any leads would be appreciated!

What filler piece??? As for the skid they work ok but we recc. relocation into the engine bay for the best tire approach angle and least likely hood of damaging the washer res.

I think he's talking filler piece for between the bumper and lower frame section but our full replacement does not need it it sits up against it. I'm not familiar with the domelllo piece.

It's a neat idea. Most 4Runner bumpers have you cut across the oem bumper cover and keep the top to fill in below headlights. This Demello piece let's you not butcher oem cover.

I am well aware of the cutting required to put the bumper on :anonymous:

    That is pretty slick.

Yep, I'm looking for a piece much like the Demello one, but hopefully in steel. I like the clean lines Demello offers, but $250 is a bit steep for something I can't hammer or bend, should I need to. I thought Shrockworks made one but now it doesn't show up on their site so I'm wondering if anyone else does...

For the washer res, I'd love to just add in some extra plates on each side to deflect wind and road grit since I'm not wheeling it yet. I'm trying to save my passenger firewall area for my solar/alternator charging system, but it might all fit since my batteries will be going in the cab, not the eng. bay.
My reservoir is aftermarket, but looks close to OEM so I'm not sure how that affects covering or moving it but worst case scenario I can drive with it exposed for a little while.

Ok so this peaked my interest. Very nicely made!!! Jeeps and such have been doing similar for years. It looks like a well made product and it would do well, some of the claims may be a little over ambitious but I wouldn't let that stop anyone from buying it. I'd also like to see the bracing and bracketry they are talking about why just show the underside. Their sliders and bumper are also intriguing looks like they mostly play with Jeeps which is where those design ques and processes are coming from. I like this type of competition it makes the rest of us get off our heels and think about some of our products and push the design envelope.

Oh at that 2g price tag there is a reason dent warranty, process of design, and materials it's not hard to reach that price point.

Thanks for sharing that now it's time to step it up!!!

For those that like the skid system I've got a few questions for you
    1. would price be a deciding factor
    2. function over form (if all the important stuff is protected) does the prettyness of this one still win over
    3. is this type of skid set up more appealing to you

I didn't consider the warranty offered, that is actually not a bad deal for someone who wants the best of both worlds AND wants to beat it up.

As for the design cues, we agree- it's sleek as hell! Artec does put out some nice looking product.

    1) Yes- I'd be willing to spend a fair amount on good armor, but I think they over built this one- which is GREAT, but it's priced out of my reach.
    2) As pretty as theirs is, what I really liked was that it offered more coverage than most, and it all fit together so cleanly. Aluminum is a plus for me too, since I'm trying to save weight. I really think you could offer a more complete set, in either steel or aluminum (or both). I've mentioned this to other fabricators (and I think Artec themselves), but simply having a nice air splitter effect under the 4R would be a nice bonus, just for the sake of reducing noise and maybe even improving fuel economy a hair. This could be done with plastics in many spots that aren't likely to see contact, or less robust sheet metals with minimal bracing and bends. Just something to keep wind, grit, and the occasional bit of brush out of the undercarriage, nothing too fancy.
If the front and LCA skids are kinda purty, that's all that matters (if looks matter at all for skids?).
    3) Your current offering is way more appealing to most, simply because it's simple, effective, and affordable. If you wanted to just add on some additional pieces, you could do that and probably never change the current visual style.

    4) I think SOS should get into making simple filler pieces for the full bumpers (and some high clearance kits for those slimline customers). Hiding the washer res, interior body, hoses and cables is going to be both a high priority for me, and a major pain since I don't have the tools or a shop to make my own (and I'd suck at it, too). They wouldn't have to be any stronger than the stock plastics, so cheaper steel or aluminum could be used.
I think you could make the top "no-cut" filler piece too, and sell those like hotcakes since RPM Fab is defunct, and Demello's (while very nice looking) is white fiberglass... and $250. I think you could come up with something in multiple pieces that would let you keep costs lower than that, but even if it was the same price or a bit higher it would be worth it to have something sturdier, especially if you can make it look and fit a little better than Demello's.

5)I think SOS would kill it with a full, no drill roof rack.

Everything you offer is more affordable than the competition, and you are going to continue thriving on this alone. Your stuff looks very well made too, and everyone who has your products says so, which is why I finally pulled the trigger on your sliders and bumper. If you keep innovating and offering options like you do, while keeping your prices lower than the other guys your fanbase will keep growing. There are only two fabricators that I see engaging customers, asking questions, and listening to us on this forum and you are one of them.

Thank you Skip, and thank Eddy and the rest of the crew too. We really appreciate all of the time and energy you put into this forum, and for offering us such great armor choices. Whatever you end up doing next, I am prepared to love it.

I like the width of the front area of that artec.
Funny, I had contacted a couple of companies in the past wanting something wider up front. If nothing else, wanted some form of bolt-on additional "splash shields" to help deflect stuff from flying straight into coilovers. I like the width of the oem skids on front for that reason.
(the coverage width is part of why I ended up welding some scrap flat bar to reinforce OEM skids and then skinned them with UHMWPE, being cheap & having material on hand was another big part part of why I did it)

Ours has wings that does this to a certain extent it's wider at the wings than the factory one. The UHMWPE is an excellent idea it adds some strength but adds a whole lot of sliding ability. Most Rock Bouncers and buggies usually run aluminum skids skinned with that stuff.

This thread has seemed to fizzle out, and I'm wondering why...there still seems to be plenty of interest in comparing armor choices and availability...

i am building out a new one, just haven't finished it yet. I am going to set it up so I have the first post and can edit to keep all the new ones in the first post.

I’m hoping to not cut my stock stuff for now. Army green isn’t as widely available.
