So, after a long hiatus from the forum and thinking about mods, I am looking into armor again.
I really like some of the new stuff you've come out with in the past year, great looking bumpers and skids!

Are there currently any sales/specials/discount codes that would bring down the cost of several pieces? I'm definitely needing sliders, a rack, and very much wanting to get a full bumper and full skids as well.
Of course, I'm really not looking forward to the weight, since that will mean ~$1500 for a basic decent suspension upgrade/install/alignment... so if I can save money/weight anywhere, I'm keen to do so.

    Any thoughts, @victoryrunner ?

Thank you! We currently have a tax season sale! 10% off your entire order. Coupon code: TAXSALE
We also have aluminum options for all of those products aside from sliders right now. So it just depends on your preference/goals. We will have an aluminum Blitz slider option coming in the next week or so (outer boats, the legs and mounts will remain steel).

I hope that helps! If you have any more questions, let me know.

Aww shit! You guys are just down in Portage? There goes the fishing budget this year. I like the sliders with the puddle lights, the Blitz front bumper and the lights behind. Just to start!

Oooohhh... new Blitzes with an aluminum box? That sounds interesting, I am really looking forward to seeing those specs and options!

I'm glad there are more companies providing lightweight armor for light wheeling and highway cruising, and Victory sure seems to be running with the concept more than others.

I'm gonna go see what my cart looks like now... :)

I just put a Blitz aluminum bumper on my vehicle last Saturday. It holds a Warn 10s winch. It’s perfect.

I thought you should know, I envy your proximity to Victory, Greenlane and Coastal... so many more aluminum options up North!
Do you think the Blitz will hold up alright to an animal impact? I hit a mule deer going 83 mph with my stock bumper last November. It wasn't a good look for my baby... but aside from some minor dings and losing my passenger fog light, the 4R kept on chugging. If that deer hadn't cleared my center grille, I would've been in some pain, and out of a 4R at least.
Thinking that maybe the Blitz would protect against most deer impacts to the center? I'd love full coverage, but that starts the ball rolling on other necessary mods...

Kinda chewy, but all I had on me at the time was a baby Bic so I can't judge him based on my lack of technique.

Hey Snickel Fritz, I'm not close to Victory, but I can make the expedition if I need something big that isn't easily shipped, like a bumper. The other shops are on the west coast, a long way from me, but they also have good aluminum parts. Aluminum rear bumpers are rare and the one from Coastal is an inexpensive kit, especially for US customers who benefit from the favourable exchange rate. Their tire mount doesn't need a camera relocate, so that's another advantage.
I like aluminum, because by the time you've geared up an overland vehicle it can get extremely heavy. It's not just about gas mileage either. It starts to handle poorly, and basically you've compromised the 4 Runner's high speed performance if you're not careful. Steel is rugged, sure, but you have to ask yourself if you really need steel armour, steel bumpers, and other components. My answer, for myself, is that I don't need steel. I'm pretty slow and cautious when I'm offroad. When I was young I had an epic breakdown and had to hike about 15 miles to the Alaska Highway in the Yukon, and it cost a fortune to recover the vehicle and I learned my lesson the hard way.
Will an aluminum bumper withstand a highway speed collision, or protect the front end of a 4 Runner from an animal impact? Probably not. Up here in Canada we have moose, and the real question is whether you even get to walk away afterwards at all. You can always buy another 4 Runner. The other thing is that the front air bag sensors are right there behind the bumper, and they should go off. If you hit a mule deer at 83mph, you know how expensive air bags are. On an older vehicle, they can be a reason for a write off by the insurance company even if it looks otherwise repairable.
My Victory bumper is mostly to hold my winch. I don't count on it as a bull bar.

Yeah, its great! It perfectly fits a Factor 55 Hawse fairlead. I ordered the Blitz without any hoops, because I wanted to retain the civilian look of the vehicle. Its my daily driver.

Whoops- I must've confused you with another member that lives in BC, sorry about that!
Still, I completely agree on the weight/benefit take. I tend to be pretty cautious as well, so aluminum is what I'll likely end up with all around.
I'm not really expecting to drive off with a chuckle anymore... that deer was my one gimme, as far as I'm concerned. It barely missed the center grille, thus the sensors so I lucked out. I would expect to have minimal damage to a full aluminum bumper if hitting say, a small doe at 40 mph. I am curious as to how those slimline bumpers hold up to mild animal impacts, though.
Thanks for the insight, and the pics of that sweet bumper!

We have gotten lots of requests for this Exterior Side Accessory Panel. So here it is! Coming soon. It bolts to our roof rack and uses a vacuum suction cup to secure it to the window. Mount RotoPax, quick fist mounts, etc., tons of options! Who would be interested?

I like that idea^ especially for rotopax gas, but I question the pressure the suction cup will put on the window when wheeling , seems like it could flex enough to pop the window.

That might be part of the problem, to much stick, not enough give results in window being dislodged during flex?? I'll let someone else give their more technical/knowledgeable opinion

I don't think this is a bad idea for mild overlanding, and I'm glad Victory is still banging out ideas like this in general. It does look like a potential hazard to my mind's eye, but it's also a new product and Victory is anything but static. I bet with an additional suction cup or even padded feet which extend beyond the glass (bent metal bars could be added) this would be just as safe as mounting on a ladder. This would also be wicked cool if it could be braced to a rear bumper, thus negating the window seal concerns and adding in some rear quarter panel protection.

I like a lot of Victory's stuff, even if some of it isn't my cup of tea they have a desire to listen and adapt, which is far more than most fabricators do.
Posting up ideas, questions, new products is good for all of us, and we get some serious enjoyment out of the process. I mean, how cool is it that we get to influence what we ACTUALLY want to buy for our trucks?
I'm waiting right now for a bumper and sliders from another vendor. I got a great deal on some great armor, but since they don't do custom work I will need to source filler plates and probably skids from somewhere else. Though Victory doesn't have bumper fillers (and NO ONE makes the other pieces I want) I won't be surprised if they do eventually offer solutions for every idea I have.

We are very close on a Blitz Bumper for the early 5th gens! It will be available in steel or aluminum, with or without a bull bar. I will have more pictures later today/next week!
