So, just tackled this little mod on my 2020 4runner.
I did the same to my 2018, which was a lot easier and took maybe 15-20minutes- going slow.
Today's mod was a bit longer, about 45min total due to having to cut out the grill part for the sensor and having to cut out pieces for the upper grille.
I used a super cheap dremel ($10 from Harbor Freight Tools) I have pictures!

I was hesitant because no one else had "before" pics of what they had to cut off on the upper grille. I'll attach for future people who need the visual.

Yep! Was shocked what cost is. It also came up as 4 different pieces you'd have to buy instead of just the two. And they wanted the Pro model vin #

Just ordered the OEM parts to replace the grille on my 2020 4runner. Does anyone happen to have a link to a video on how to properly install? Will toyota install it for me?

Does anyone know of an article or youtube on cutting the pre-2020 pro grille?

I haven't seen a video on it, just this forum post. It's not hard if you have a dremel or something to cut the plastic.

    none yet :(
Very new to mods, I got a great deal on a limited (dealer used) and want to change the front grill, any ideas if OEM would be easy for someone not familiar with this kinda stuff? Thanks

It's pretty simple. There is a bit more to it then what this video shows but there a ton of more detailed videos out there.

Shouldn't have to cut anything. The new pro grill is available. At least at my dealership. Unless of course you're getting an inexpensive aftermarket version. Even at cost, the OEM version ain't cheap.

Right I went with the 2019 pro grill, ~$100 vs. $400+. The cutting was indeed pretty simple. Im happy with it, it's just for looks afterall. Prefer to save the money for the things that affect performance.
