2016 TRD Pro Engine Whine

    Hey upperleftadventureguy - you just must have better hearing than the rest of us and as long as you’re happy, it’s all good. Mine doesn’t whine, and if it starts to, it will probably be a prelude of things to come. Btw, the time to fix things is before they fail, as in preventative maintenance.

    Maybe I do have good hearing. Along with most people / shops /overland companies I have talked to about the whine - that work on Runners daily. I trust their word and experience. Preventive maintenance is good - ill start it once I surpass 40k.

    I sold my 2011 with 116k, had engine whine it’s whole life in the upper RPM range, and it had zero issues:burnrubber: present day 4runner also has the faint whine at high RPMS. No prelude of failure:hattip:
