Thinking back, you may be right. The current waxes do seem to attract a lot of dust quickly. But the California Duster takes care of that. It's a small price to pay for the wax being much easier to apply and without residue.

Do you remember the "Pink" colored stuff they use to advertise on TV back in the 1970's ? In the ad they use to apply the wax as usual, then pour a small amount of lighter fluid on the hood of the vehicle and light it on fire to show how tough their finish was. LOL Wasn't available in stores till later on. But it was easy to apply liquid form and deed indeed produce a good finish. I think (?) it was more of a polymer than a wax.

Nice looking Rig. Yes, those quick detailers are really nice after a wash and in between wax jobs.

Yes! totally remember those commercials putting lighter fluid on the hood of the vehicle and lighting it on fire to show how tough their finish was. lol The good old days when showmanship sold a product that worked.

I had Zurich Shield applied to our 2025 4Runner. Supposed to be a bit better than ceramic coating and so far I like it. After I go through a NW winter of mountain passes, sanded and brined roads I will decide of the Zurich Shield was worth the expense. That being said I have had a couple of show quality cars and several daily driver trucks. I have always used Mequire's products on them and other vehicles including my 04 2500HD which has seen a lot of off road use. Except when the truck was extremely dirty I hand wash all. I use a California Car Cover Dry Blade to remove the majority of the water then dry with cotton towels. I do well at shows with my cars and thus never felt the need to do anything else.

I also have one of those Dry Blades. They work well to remove the initial bulk of water. I then (use to) finish drying with a chamois (real back when) to finish drying. But today, the microfiber towels work great.
