Drivers window comes up but jumps out of track. Took door panel off and window is off track. How do you put window back in track. Is there a trick to this?

Got window back in track. Ruined the felt guides. Those things suck.
Now it just keeps getting better. Just bought this ride and im finding all sorts if ekectrical issues. When i try to roll down passenger electric window, the radio cuts off and the voltage meter drops hard and lights in dash blink. Anybody have a clue as to what the heck is causing this?

Sounds like your window/window regulator is pinching or rubbing a wire harness inside the door. Maybe when you fixed the window you accidentally moved a harness.

Window was doing this before it went off track. It works up and down on passenger side. Just the switch on drivers side that operates passenger side. It looks like it would blow a fuse if it is a bare wire touching. The radio cuts off and resets and the amp gauge goes south. Im not a wiring nut, but i can tackle the little stuff. Took radio completely out. It is a aftermarket kenwood with all the amps, etc. Also, something clicks in the passenger door.

It might have damaged the wire or wire harness when the window was off track. I would still remove the door panel and inspect everything really good, also check the switches to the power windows.

I know this is an old thread, its the only one I found while searching front window issues. I am not great at the internet haha

I have an 87 with manual windows. The front drivers window has been tough to roll down. The other day it came off the track and is just falling down now unless I wedge or tape it up.

I apologize in advance if I have overlooked threads on this but I have a few questions.

Is there a specialty tool for removing the plastic panel keepers on the door panel?

What's the best source for replacement parts for those panel keepers and for window track parts, for alot of gen one parts for that matter?

Is there a best shop manual to purchase or download?

All the doors need the panels removed and the interior tracks and mechanisms cleaned and lubed up. I will be working towards that as the Alaska winter weather allows
