Raptor lights. They were cool until I saw every other 4Runner with them.

    Options allowed?

    1. Moon roof..!! - My SR5 didn't had moonroof and it had much better head room. Wish I could pick my other 4Runners with no moon roof. If I had no moon roof I don't have to be worried if I was caught in a hail storm as well.

    2. 20 inch wheels on Limited - Pathetic sidewall. I had to spend extra to get 17in wheels and tires.

My current 4runner is a two row but my last one had a third seat. I hated it because it cost several inches height in the cargo area (made the difference between being able to carry a couple of large items and having to make other plans to move them), but worst was the cargo floor sloping towards the tailgate. I can't tell you how many times I had groceries roll out onto the ground when opening the tailgate. Never had that happen with my current one.

Other than my wheels, tires, spacer lift and 3M clear bra, I have no mods and I'm quite happy.

I thought about the Toyota front grill cover briefly until I realized that about everyone was doing that and decided not to. The OEM part is stupid money and I read several reports of dissatisfaction with the cheap aftermarket ones.

Two molle panels for the rear windows. Ended up selling one as all my stuff fit onto one.

Moon roof. Added expense and useless for me. Have never used one on previous vehicles. But what pisses me off the most is that I really had no choice unless I risked ordering from the factory. Every 4R I've seen at the local dealership has a moon roof. It's like they are standard equipment:(

Canvas back cargo liner. The velco causes damage to the cheap carpet, they are to modular to protect anything but the section the individual piece is covering and they are costly for what they are.

My regrets on accessories are the significant amount of time I spend wondering what to do next: Can I afford it? Do I need it? Will it be cool? I got to get a life beyond 4Runner...

One of our dealerships was like that. Fortunately the other dealership had plenty of 4Runners without that moonroof.

Moonroofs are major headroom killers especially for the rear passengers in the 4Runner.

Thus far only the rear diff skid. My truck has kdss and I'm not a fan of the way it attaches, so it's collecting dust in the garage.

We don't need the headroom but I don't like moonroofs because I see them as a future roof leak.

Unfortunately, they are a must have for the wife.

I had to do that too along with OEM+ speaker upgrade but don't regret quietness and solid feel of doors and awesome clear sound not bouncing around door frames.

Cartrimhome LED Dome light panel which melted and nearly destroyed whole light and switch assembly not to mention possible car fire.

    All of them.
Front runner roof rack. I should have waited it out like everyone else and ordered a gobi from the start. Now I have 4 permanent holes in my roof that even though you can’t see them now I’ll always know they are there.

This is exactly why I won't do electrical modifications to my 4Runner.

My friend upgraded his Acura with LED turn signals and it caused very weird lighting issues with the brake lights. One example, when he applied the brakes, the brake lights would not come on but the dome light would.

Once he removed the aftermarket LED circuits, the car returned to normal.

    No thanks.

OEM crossbars. They are not high enough to be much use. I put my Yakama Skybox on and I now have a permanent reminder that they are to close to the roof. I dropped the coin for the Yakama towers and crossbars.

Brushguard. Sort of. I really don't like the looks of it, but it has saved my front end from damage a couple of times from large tumbleweeds and a pheasant. I think the 5th gens look great with nothing, or just the winch adapter. Might go to the Warn winch mount next year if I don't upgrade to a Tundra.

Rear cover cargo, I should have given it back to the dealer when I purchased my car. Also, couldn't find a 4runner without navi, wondering if they even exist.

Yakima MegaWarrior Roof Basket that came standard with the Venture Model. That was removed day 1 after I found out it only support I think 51 pounds on the stock plastic cross bars. Sold it for $200.

I had the Predator Steps removed from the window sticker build list before it hit port. That just looked like something I would bang my shins on and start rusting on the welds after the first winter.

Any other mods I would suggest doing extensive research on and ask a lot of questions.

LOL. Yea, that cargo cover seems like a pretty useless accessory. It's just in the way of loading/unloading gear. Fortunately, it just lifts out.
My 21' ORP/MR came with just two accessories. Door edge guards and cargo cover. I like the door edge guards, especially since the are body color. Wonder why they don't offer them for the rear doors ?
