I looked on the bottle and annoyingly Toyota doesn't say anywhere what type it is. I know it can be mixed with Toyota red, but can it be mixed with red coolant in general?

I have a JK wrangler that has red coolant, and I'd rather use the Toyota pink coolant I already have to top off the overflow bottle instead of buying another.

If the coolants are incompatible, will I be able to tell from mixing them outside the engine, or does it take engine heat to make stuff happen?

They should both be the same base chemicals but manufacturers are mixing in all kinds of extra shit into the formula these days that I'm not sure I'd mix the two. It used to just be that you had to worry about mixing red and green because the bases reacted but personally, it's cheap stuff that I'm not going to mess around with when it'll be in my engine for half a decade.

Check to see what the manuals spec, the chemistry asked may be different and colors vary.

Heck, Zerex Asian is all the same, just with different dyes.

Pink is diluted red. Red needs to be diluted.
