RCIs instruction were a little vague, especially for the transfer case skid. They sent me FJ instructions, fortunately I remembered how it went on my old Tacoma and how to use the brake line gang bracket hole, but it all turned out great.
Selling some take offs in the marketplace section if your in SoCal.

Finally installed the Xenondepot.com HID kit I got last year. So much better than stock. I hid the ballasts behind the side plastic trim under the hood. Turned out real clean. No pics cuz I don't know how without tapatalk...sorry.

Ok here are some pics of the hid install. Thanks again 4x4Runner....
Mounted the ballasts behind the side trim in the engine bay. These pop off very easily
IMG_20181121_145757.jpg the part of the install I didn't want to screw up.IMG_20181121_145937.jpg
    IMG_20181121_150413.jpg
All buttoned up. I like this better than the ballasts being exposed and also crowding up the engine bayIMG_20181121_160240.jpg

Went with the 5100’s in the front and rear....front is set to 2.5”, and I added the Toytec springs in the rear that gave me 2” lift....didn’t want to mess with spacers. Only thing I wish I would have done was changing out the UCAs, but it’s on my next to do list.

I chose the FN over the TRDs because of the over width, plus everyone I asked just advised me to go with the wider option if I was going to run 285’s and I just like the concaved look with the optional center cap the FN offers.

It took me 6 months to gather up everything before I finally got it to the shop, but if your on a budget and are patient, you can find most of everything online. Got the 5100s for $150 on Offer Up brand new. Toytecs for $100 brand new off of Craigslist, and scored a set of 5 of the 285s from a guy who bought a New Rubicon, wanted to go bigger and sold them to me for $600 with about 25miles on them....Facebook Marketplace. The only thing I paid directly for was the FNs and I got those for $800 shipped.

My RSG sliders arrived yesterday! Installed them today before turkey-time. Installation was a piece of cake. The weight of these and the impending installation of my SSO front bumper and ComeUp 9.5rs winch convinced me that I should go ahead and order the 700lb upgrade springs for my front Icon shocks, so I placed that order today with Rogue Off-Road.

Thanks!! To save a lot of time on going thru a full wax or polish job. I use this stuff also on my corvette. It is a detail spray with polish in it. Chadwick’s Triple play. You can watch also video on you tube how it is used. If I wipe my hand across the finish it feels so slippery. It saves me a lot of time using this. I use it after every time I wash my truck. I also use it after having my Vette out. But I don’t wash I Vette. Sorry about the long post.

I’m a fan of Griots Garage for the paint care. Unfortunately...I’m in CA, don’t have a garage and have to rely on friends with garages and driveways to do this stuff. Poor girl is in need of a good washin and waxin.

What do you have going on with your audio system in your 4Runner? I have done nothing yet to mine. Maybe down the road.

    Don,
I have only upgraded the subwoofer. I used the right rear pocket panel and added a JL 10" sub, JBL Mono Amp, Audio Control LC6i 6 channel as a line out converter (allows you to add aftermarket amps, speakers, and subs to your car's factory radio). I will adding 3.5" JBL dash speakers this week per recommendation from Chris above....
I will eventually replace all 4 door speakers and rear tailgate (Front door is 6x9 opening but with an adapter, you can fit 6.5", rear door/tailgate are both 6.5's), Add a 4 channel to push door speakers, Factory deck will drive Dash/Tailgate speakers.

I am so tempted to replace the Entune deck also......I always wanted to add a full size Ipad in there.....

Pics of my Sub/Amp/LC6 is on pg 89

    More to come.....

    Thanks Tony,
I have had a lot of systems over the years in my cars and trucks. My last one was in my 2015 Tacoma. I have always changed out my headunit. But if I upgrade my 4runner I’m keeping the headunit in and upgrading the rest. My friend that owns a audio store been dealing with him for years. He told me a lot of there installs customers are keeping there factory headunit. I know these guys can still make the system sound awesome with the factory headunit. I will check it out. Thanks.

Where did you get that mirror? I have the Rav 4 on my right side and don't like it over a normal round convex. It shows too much too far out if you know what what I mean.

Ladder is on and secure. No more climbing onto the roof like a Neanderthal to compress the RTT when we’re out camping.

Changed the oil and filter. Wasn't too bad. It's the first time I have ever changed a cartridge filter. Toyota care is over. I miss the spin on kind.

I like the cartridge personally. Nice to be able to look at the media and look for anything that doesn't belong there.
