Yes. He was saying that a 2.5” lift will risk slipping the cv boot strap off. I personally think that is not correct. Maybe larger lift would. But then you’d have longer axles added to compensate.

I could be wrong, but I got that @slar50 was referring to the wife and the lift, not the CV boot...

Cost cutting, same with soft-close tailgate, as well as LED tail lights and projector headlights (2010-2013).

6th gen, if it follows Tundra and Tacoma trends, will probably have a non-locking door on SR5, and an electric popper on higher trims. At least they haven't gone to capless filling like Ford and Chrysler.

Appointed with new shoes. Added Method 703's to the Falken WP 255's. Very minor rub at full lock and will need a slight trim but it should be pretty simple and straight forward. Also added the 4runnerlifestyle front valance and deleted the front LP. Waiting for them to get the rear Valance back in stock.

Picked up my 4Runner from Gibson Exhaust after a few days of R&D...
I drove off with a new Black Elite Dual Exhaust System! Boom!
Sounds beefy and it is louder than stock...I like it. Not for everyone, but I like driving by and setting alarms off in parking structures.

Beautiful!! I'm also thinking about swap out the exhaust to add some clearance to flush with the bumper I have. The only thing stopping me is I don't like it loud lol.

So, one key I forgot was to account for factory rake. When I ordered rear springs, I ordered 2.5” but should have ordered 1.5”.

    factory take = 2”
Lifting Elkas add 3.0” to take = 1.0”
Rear coils should therefore be 1.5” and then settle a half inch.

For anyone planning their own lift, account for factory rake ahead of time.

I now have a set of new, black, Dobinsons C59-325 for sale. Installed in the driveway, then immediately uninstalled and in a box. I’m glad to ship to you.

    original price 245$
Asking price 175$ plus 25$ shipping.

Flowmaster used to make a complete bolt on (no cutting or welding) dual exhaust kit. I have it on my Tacoma. Unfortunately, no dice for the 4Runner.

Yeah, sorry to disappoint on not a dual exhaust. I don't know if they have plans for it, but I am happy with this set up.

Celebrating 2 years of ownership I've finally begun detailing it myself, seeing the engine bay clean felt incredibly rewarding.

Been thinking about ordering the Cartrimhome TRD skid plate. Found a 7% discount code on a YouTube video that saved me about $19 plus I had another $5 prepaid Visa card that I used. That was enough to push me over the edge and pull the trigger. I’ve heard mixed reviews so I guess we’ll see what happens when it arrives.

True!! But I realize I gotta cut it through the supporting point so that It will flush with the high clearance bumper. I got R4T exhaust coming. Hopefully everything comes out well so I can save some weight as well. :)
