i have the same rack on my 19 Pro. Did all four of the rubber blocks sit nice and flat for you? Due to abnormalities in my roof welds, one didn’t sit flat but after tightening down it appears to be sealed just fine. I also decided to seal mine a bit different than the instructions. Used larger washers with RTV under them and put the RCI rubber backed washer on top when bolting it on. Otherwise it looked like water could go down the threads of the bolts pretty easily the way mine all lined up. Love the functionality of the rack though!

For those interested on an update.

Another weekend sleeping in the desert during the day while working at night time.

While a bit tedious setting up and taking down a significant improvement with cooling the inside by changing the AC to the higher point and in recharging the battery with the addition of the 2nd 200w solar panel. Next, going to have to find a way to permanently install the 2nd panel as an expanding addition as taking the panel out and stowing it later is at risk of being damaged. Thus, more to come on that new project.
    IMG_9369.HEIC.jpg IMG_9370.HEIC.jpg

Began the morning, 7:46am, with 86F outside and 79F inside before starting the AC, and the panels harvesting 10.7A. The 17.5A draw is from the water heater (84F) and not the AC.
    IMG_9361.HEIC.jpg IMG_9362.HEIC.jpg

With the AC set to 72F, by 11:08am the outside to inside temperature difference was 19F. While that doesn't seem like much the discrepancy is where the weather station is located inside versus the AC's performance. Sleeping directly in front of the AC I had to cover myself with the sleeping bag as the AC was too cold at 72F. However, when I put the AC to 75F while still pretty cold while sleeping in front of it when the AC turn off it got too hot under the sleeping bag, thus, after 2 days sleeping inside, the 72F set point was the sweet spot.
    IMG_9364.HEIC.jpg

The AC pulling 5+A off the 3k inverter and the combined 400w solar panel harvesting 21.7A are able to keep the house battery at 13.3V, and up from 13.2V at the beginning.
    IMG_9365.jpg IMG_9366.jpg

About noon time I turn off the AC while going for a run and then starting the AC again later to take a nap ~2pm before waking at 4pm to head back to work. Between 11am and 2pm the outside temperature increased by 3F and the inside temperature increased by 19F with the AC off, and also tempered down by the wool insulation in the ceiling. The AC lowering the inside temperature by 9F while sleeping between 2pm and 4pm. While 9F seems like nothing, because I am sleeping directly in front of the AC at 72F (and under the sleeping bag) it is more than comfortable.

I've been making scoop decals and selling them on here. Ours has been on our 2018 since new and looks just as good as the day I installed it. The key is to find a good vinyl. I am using Oracal 951 which is their top of the line offering (they say 7-10 year life). I also make the printed topo in 3M Controltac which is the industry standard for printable vinyl (they say 6 year expectancy). I had one delamination with the 3M but that is it from here and my online store. Just make sure you find a quality vinyl for whatever you are wanting to put on.

    Installed a ladder yesterday.

I'm going to be going on a 3 week road trip in remote territory and wanted some extra fuel. I vividly remember four times in my life where a planned fuel stop didn't work out (once due to area fuel shortage, two due to extended power outages, one because the only fuel stop in between two communities was closed for the season), and prefer to not relive that.

So all that being said, I basically bought a ladder to hold 100km's of fuel...but my wife will be able to use it to access the roof.

Are there better options...very much yes. I would prefer to have a swing away tire carrier and then get NATO can holders on that (or even one of those spare tire fuel cans) but cost was a factor, and at least the ladder will be used for actual laddery things. There is no room on the roof, and even if there was room up there I'm suspicious of laying down Rotopacks on the roof.

The ladder is a C4 Summit, and its holding the 3 gallon Rotopack...has anyone else used that same combo? Is that mount sturdy enough for the weight of the fuel if not being abused on extremely rough roads?

My C4 is due for delivery today. Any cautions on install or did it go as planned? I bought and then sold a Gobi that I thought was insufficient, hoping the C4 is a notch or two up.

    I had two hangups:
    1. when I unboxed it at my shop I found the three backing plate bolts were missing (the ones that clip in), so definitely check that you have all parts right away
    2. There are no actual written instructions, so you have to watch the damn YouTube video.

But overall, the install was easy, and the video I was just bemoaning is actually quite thorough, and worth a pre-watch. I did it solo, and it was not difficult

Edit: I have the version that bolts to the bottom of the rear gate. Not sure if that's the new one or the old one, but I think I heard of some that kind of clamp on

Yeah I miss the old days when you got actual instructions with your purchase but I guess it saves on paper. How do you feel about quality, meets your expectations?

I keep hitting the like button instead of the quote button!

As far as quality, I'm actually somewhat surprised at how good it is. I originally thought it seemed a little hokey with the 2-way stick tape, but its very stable...more stable than my brain thinks it should be. And the material itself is very robust.

Yeah I should be all that and more considering the sticker price, half again as much as the Gobi. I do like quality so looking forward to that. Have a great trip.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I don't have answers to your questions, but I can see you got an Rotopax and not a Fuelpax which is considered a higher quality product than Fuelpax. Will it fade and/or bulge over time? Maybe. But Fuelpax wouldn't last as long. At least, that's what I've heard.

Maybe not what I did, but what I saw. Saw a new army green Tundra. Sharp looking truck. But really liked the tag on it.

Wife went out shopping so I had a free evening to wash my truck and give it a coat of Chemical Guys sealant/wax. I applied using my new DA polisher and wow, I've wasted so much time in my life in the past applying wax by hand. Took maybe 30-45 minutes to coat the entire vehicle and wipe it off.

Installed TW IR NANO CERAMIC at Tint World to back, sides, moon roof and windshield. Used FL legal tint levels all around and clear on windshield. This is their highest rated product/ Plutonium Grade Scratch Resistant, ect. Cost me $1K incl. tax. Lifetime warranty. Changed the entire look of the vehicle. Very nice. Only 4K miles, can't wait to run out the orig tires to change to 275/55/20.

Had to upgrade to a heavy duty struts just for the ladder after installing my C4 ladder. Learned the hard way that I needed it, basically the stock ones was not strong enough to hold up the hatch and it landed on my head. There are struts for gas can and ladder.

With the ladder alone I needed to just barely assist opening. With the empty can on it took some effort to lift but stayed up on its own. Strut upgrade is high on my list though, just have to revisit the dozens of threads talking about the make and model people are using; I'm hoping I saved the info the first time I was digging through.

Looks good, I'm considering the Eibach stage 1. How much lift from stock? Did you do some trimming of the front wheel well for the 285s?

This is the struts I went with. They offer 2 types, one for ladder only and the other one for ladder and gas can. I don't know the part number for the one for the ladder/gas can. You can email them. They get back to you quickly.

I have the C4 ladder and 2 gal rotopax mounted on it. I have had no issues with the set up and I do frequent rough trails. I vent the rotopax each day when on a trip.

Had to replace brakes so upgraded to PowerStop Z36 kit with the zinc plated rotors and carbon fiber pads. Since she’s got so much extra weight I wanted some extra stopping power.
