Yeah, apologize. I left a set of hard shackles on there.

I like them because they keep the plate clean (and I also like clean, no advertising frames). The downside to that is, I guess, easier for LEO to see. Some covers have anti-laser coatings but those are very illegal and more likely to get busted. As with most things, each to his own.

    LED fogs. AND

    Changed the engine coolant….

leveling kit is in the backseat, maybe Saturday.

Factory skid plate has 2 front bolts broken off look pretty rusty any advice on extraction or just pound the weld nut out and start welding in new ones for larger bolts?

super easy even without removing skid plate. The whole take 20-30 minutes. No just about to turn 50k but it’s a 2017. I’ve had a little over a month and want a Good base line on maintenance. Plus I’m finding broken bolts and little stuff… need to do some tlc on the frame.

I ordered a set of these for my wife’s new car and, since they were so cheap, got a set for mine. I really like them. Very clean look and I no longer worry that the super thin plates they issue here in Texas are rattling or flapping or will get bent in a car wash, especially the front one.

whatever bolts you can spin out, make sure you anti-seize them before you put them in, like on the skid plates, etc.

for sure…. I always hit fasteners with something before putting back. How to quickly fix the broken off bolts is the question of the day for me.

Thanks, I love it after living with it for a week. Cool thing is that it peels off if I decide later I don’t want it anymore.

For those of us with darker vehicles, a slight shading to take off the pure white (but still legible for legal) is good, especially where you have a front plate as well. Prevents font from chipping away on front plates (great if you have a personalized license plate), and used to help deter stealing of plate renewal stickers (but now our province has gone stickerless).

Sucks. I know how I’d feel on a the OEM one, let alone an upgraded one.

The license plate covers are illegal in my state. Most of the time the cops don't bother you unless they're really dark or too dirty to read the plates. As far as the stickers, I never put on the new stickers. So far haven't been bothered for it.

Yeah. You know why? Because the flash on a red light camera make the plate number unreadable in the photo. >:-(

Finally got my recovery brackets from SRQ Fab installed. Had to hog out one hole per bracket to make them work. I also had to grind down a weld of the frame that had way too much metal mounded up. Once I did that they bolted up nicely. Peace of mind knowing I can get pulled out of a situation if needed.

The apex mounts don’t hang too low. This person is hanging d shackles on the stock tie down points in addition to having the apex recovery points in place. I’d suggest removing the shackles. The Apex plates add enough “red” look and then the shackles won’t end up rusting or worse come lose on the highway. I liked using soft shackles on the Apex mounts…felt safer.

Just thought of comparing drop in LED bulb (Lasfit LA H11) vs factory LED Headlight. (Collecting different cases for my next video)

Can ya'll tell me your opinion, do my SPC UCA's look alright to you. Without jacking up and checking the wheel for play. Not that they feel bad yet but they're year & half old. Pics after greasing.
I grease em before or after longer trips. When they appear shrunk in, I fill them up till what I feel is the right swell. But I've never got them to expel old grease out the bottom in real time. Thanks!

Since were in the cheap thread, I was considering gluing a wireless charger to the bottom. I tested it and it seems to work perfectly!

Had some trouble getting the rear camera to work. So glad I purchased it from Crutchfield. They worked with me for about an hour and got it resolved!

Installed a full length Prinsu rack (non-drill) today! Super pleased with the way it came out. Fold-flat kayak racks installed right after. It was a good day!

Ohh..!! I wasn't planning to decide or tell anything like that on the video as no one with LED housing will go back to Halogen housing with LED bulbs. Atleast I won't. I was planing just to show how much drop in LEDs have improved mimicking LED housing cut off line. May be some where down the line I might buy a stock LED housing and stop my LED light testing.:D:D

Let me spend little more time and see how I feel. Very hard to tell.

    NICE...!!!!!
I'd really like to have a roof rack like that one day. If I get it I would definitely get a single row low profile stupid bright light bar near that wind deflector (or whatever that thing is called).

    Edit -
    Something like this-

Yeah we debated it and opted out of the light bar cutout option in favor of some pod ditch lights that are in the mail on the way right now. Still love the way they look with the light bar for sure!

Please share that info too. I was thinking to go for super low profile Baja S1 pods. Not sure if that would be waste of money since they are very small. Can't really judge by the youtube videos.

I’m usually a “name brand” kind of guy, but a buddy of mine has these off brand pods from eBay on his Tacoma and they’re super nice. For the price I couldn’t help it. Worst case I wasted $100 if I don’t like them long term
