8 years? It’s a 2016 which I bought as a brand new leftover in 2017. Just turned 6 years old. Average is about 6,400 miles a year. At this rate I’ve got at least 50 years left in it lol.

 

I’ve got about 25,000miles on mine. It turns a year old Feb 15th.

At this rate…I don’t want to think about it. Maybe Ill slow down after a few years.

Eh, at my age, who cares how many miles are piling up, life’s short. This is the first vehicle I’ve bought that I enjoy driving around just to drive around. It’s mine and Im gonna use it up! It’s kind of weird because I’ve always figured I could only enjoy something totally different and sportier, like an FRS or S2000).

 

Gave the 4Runner a wash after the desert this weekend. My Life prefers shiny tires and wheels. NOT I.

What say you? Shiny or subdued?

Just finished completing my winch-disconnect switch install and function checked everything.







I also plasti-gauged the clearance between the hood and the top of the switch (…ok, fine, I used a pile of play-do and shut the hood on it). Way more clearance than I expected! More than the playdo is high




I appreciated the links to the Anderson quick disconnects. Had me thinking if I was overcomplicating things with a switch, so I spent some time reassessing. Ultimately though, I think a switch is gonna work better for me. I’d want to mount at least one end solidly, which is pretty much as much work as this was. And I couldn’t figure a clean solution for the loose end.

Feel much better daily driving with the winch completely isolated from the battery!

I had a choice to make
Slam into the little tiny baby car that stopped short (not their fault) or lightly tap the concrete barrier
Since I was going "slow" enough I chose concrete
Funked up thing is...I've less damage on the darn trails!

Small piece and hardware box finally showed up

 

Had a rainy day, used it to work the 4x4 , ran It a few miles in 4 high, then when I got home , switched it into 4 low, drove down the street , stopped back to 4hi, then into 2hi.

 

Can’t wait to see this installed on your rig

Been out for a bit. Metal was used, black off the shelf... at the time from "hardware depot". Small zip ties, secure it to the grill.

 

Got the Canvasback Liner installed and received the rest of my Skid Plate shipment today. Now to just wait for conditions to get better so I can go out and get them bolted on.

Paid it off and added a Garmin Mini 2 dash cam. Connected it to the Dongar USB port by my mirror.

Had a chip in my windshield repaired today. Don't even know where it happened. The repair place and the garage next door kept complimenting my wheels.

Speaking of the wheels, does anyone else find the speedometer far more accurate with larger tires?

 

I’m running a 295/70/17 and my speedometer is a little slow.
