Seriously considering Hefty for my 4Runner. I had a conventional 3/16” plate bumper on my Tacoma and while the quality and sturdiness were amazing it also added about 200lbs of front end weight with a winch and synthetic line. The aluminum Hefty is really appealing for the weight savings alone but it seems really well built and thought out as well.

Dude I'm not sure what kind of offroading, wheeling or rock crawling you do but even if you don't...have your wife look at RSG sliders. They have been amazing and not to mention super solid! IMG_8493(1).jpg

Now this in intriguing. I thought we were out of luck with that unless the whole system was disabled then the lights were always on.

Oh you guys have the fancy stuff...mine is 2017 so none of that to worry about but regardless sliders or skids shouldn't interfere with that. You're likely going to encounter any issues if any at all when you talk front, rear bumpers and those things.

Designed a drawer/sleep platform system to build myself. Going to use materials other than plywood or steel panels. Going to frame up everything using ITEM WEST aluminum extrusion. Using their 20x20mm profile. Going to use ABS for paneling. I think it will be unique. But I’ve got it in for me now.

Enjoyed me a bear encounter lol
And for the record - I did go back and finish my reclaimed beer
colorful language warning ⚠️ Back story is that this bear roams the camp ground freely and is very comfortable around people. His name is Frankie. Still a bear though. Lol but, my friend decided to feed him an apple earlier. Which bear did take, and leave, and then came back for more - and that’s where the video picks up.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
That's why it's a terrible idea to ever feed a wild animal. You virtually asked it to come back and look for more food.

Oh boy. Black bears are smart and interesting but any park ranger would tell you this is so wrong.

Never feed bears. For an animal that normally eats vegetation, grubs, berries, fish, small animals, etc., getting a sweet apple or candy bar is like giving it crack cocaine. You’ve just contributed to and reinforced an addict’s habit and it will be back for more. If not from you then the next guy.

If a bear enters your camp site scare it away immediately with yelling, banging pots, waving arms. Don’t let it get comfortable around you.

Don’t leave food or any scented items out when you’re not there.

It’s a real big problem nationwide especially in National Parks where lots of property damage occurs from bear break ins, not to mention human attacks, and the repeat offender bears are killed.

Here’s some info from Yosemite NP about bear etiquette as a reminder.

    https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/bears.htm

    https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/scarebears.htm

Here’s what a hungry bear can do to your car if it smells food or even sees a food container inside. I’ve seen the aftermath of bear breakins several times. Broken glass, doors bent open, backseats torn apart to access the trunk. It’s truly amazing how strong they are and the damage they can do.

So, be bear safe and have fun in the outdoors.
