But you fell for their BS and you did let them do it, that's the point. So, I ask again, did you learn your lesson or will you continue to allow dealer hacks to work on your 4Runner?

Wow...some people's level of ineptitude is amazing. That dealership should be embarrassed.

Sucks that this happened to you!

The warranty outline is very clear. Failure to do preventive maintenance can void your warranty. None of us can afford a lawyer better than Toyota. If you can't prove you did it and did it correctly they COULD deny a warranty claim. That's fact. Not BS. I'm not good at keeping records or receipts. So I let them do it...

There is only a very very small, microscopic, chance an engine will seize up by 60K miles, so from now on I'll do my own service. And just keep my receipts... And hope I'm not in the .001% group. I'm more than capable, and have invested thousands and thousands of dollars in my own garage, tools, and college for Auto tech and performance schooling.

All that being said... My 2.75” front, 1” rear lift is still perfectly level. A 4 foot level proves it. :p:D:p

Sounds like a pain in the ass! At least they're getting it straightened out.

I did my 5K tire rotation and 10K oil change at the dealer. I like the service department there, but after the 10K the truck had a new scratch (the FIRST scratch )! I am only 99% sure it was them and didn't notice it until the next day, so I just let it go.

Now I have about 500 scratches from narrow trails and I do my own maintenance:D

Every time I take any vehicle to any service department I make a 3-4 minute video at the service department, walking around inspecting the vehicle... They see me doing it so they know they can't deny any damage they do.

I started this after the service department scratched my wife's car and claimed they received it that way. We ended up winning that battle because they did a walk-around inspection of their own and claimed no damage on the paper.

Technically the service department is supposed to do their own walk-around, and fill out a walk-around inspection sheet... Any damage not listed on that inspection sheet they can be held liable for... But they don't always do it.

1st day: took my vehicle in for an easy tire rotation. Left and got on the highway with a massive wobble the likes of which I’ve have never witnessed before.
2nd day: had a balance done, no change, said I had two bent rims. Not many potholes around here?
3rd day: took vehicle back to Toyota where they told me I now have three bent rims. How these rims are bending themselves I will never know. Tried to give me a bill for 4K when the dam car is only worth like 5k.
4th day: ordered three new rims off of eBay and had them installed at the tire shop. Luckily I got a Memorial Day deal..
5th day: happy camper last time I go to the dealer. Ever!!

I would like to look at the sweaters a little closer. The only things I get when on that site is this silliness. Screenshot_20191212-214414_Chrome.jpg
Any chance you could provide a link so we may get a better look at those items? Thank you sir!

One second, I just saw the punisher logo in these (I know!). Does every one have that?
I can do camo etc but I am not a punisher logo guy. No offense to anyone who likes it.

I think they all have it. I actually saw these as an ad on Facebook... So I can't vouch for the company personally or anything, just thought I'd share it... But here's the link... Not sure why we can't just search the site and find em but I'm guessing they make things AFTER their ordered.

Yup, all appear to have the punisher logo. Otherwise I would order one.
Oh well. I did find this @ the dealer for $15.95. It is "RealTree". I am 6'4 & fits me great!

I bet if you contacted them they'd make one without the punisher. Looks like they just print to order.

I don't really care that much. I just bought the hat because I needed another one & it was kinda cool looking. I just bought a "Salute to Service" NFL hoodie that wasn't exactly cheap (I wanted last year's color).
I guess I am not that big of a fan boy to need everything to say Toyota.
Ironically, and with no ill intent. The people I see wearing the most "manufacturers clothing" is either Porsche or Ferrari. :notsure::der::notsure:

Edit* thanks for the link & info.

No problem at all. I'd prolly like it more without the punisher too... But still not enough to spend more than $20 bucks LOL

I don't own any clothing with Toyota on it... But ironically I have 4 or 5 shirts with Chevy, or old Chevy cars on them... Only because I went to Kohl's with my wife one day and they had all these shirts for like 8 bucks... I bought like 10, half were Chevy half were random shirts.

I refuse to spend a bunch on shirts, sweaters and shoes... My pants are all 5.11 or tru-spec, they cost around $50 a pair... I stopped wearing jeans about 8 years ago when I got my first pair of 5.11s... most comfortable and practical pants ever. Light, plenty of pockets, water resistant, grease comes off easy enough... I like em... All other clothes are bought from clearance racks or military clothing outlets. I have prolly 20 rothco shirts that were like $5 a piece LOL

I got a nice pair of Ariat boots, I only wear to fancy places... Then I wear sketchers or similar shoes 99% of the time.

I have a pair of 5.11 pants. I like them but there is something about them that I cannot pinpoint. The pockets were one (slanted) & something about the rear (as I wear an undershirt). Since that purchase it appears that all the retailers quit carrying their brand.
Then I found Duluth Duluth Trading Company!
I buy their pants, belts, underwear & more. Some are still made in the USA. The quality is insane and the comfort is a 12/10! I use the dark brown flex pants for work! I own over 5 pair of their pants and love every one. None are flannel lined, that would be to hot!
Try a pair & see what you (anyone on here) think? I could wear them 24 hrs a day!
This is my first Toyota clothing.

If they're geared more towards cargo then jeans I'll have to give them a try! Is their a specific style or just Duluth in general?

I didn't care for the slanted back pocket at first either but got used to it. The tru-spec 24/7 pants are similar to the 5.11 but with normal back pockets... Though I like the fit of the 5.11s more. More crotch area room, so more comfortable when leaning over an engine or squatting down. As I age I appreciate more room in that area LOL

These are my favorite! They are flex witch means there is a little give in all the fabric (won't tear as easy).
    https://www.duluthtrading.com/mens-duluthflex-fire-hose-ultimate-cargo-work-pants-71703.html
The straight firehouse pants are thick! Same style just heavier fabric.
Doing lawn & landscaping a pair of these pants will easily last me 3 yrs or more! They are a workhorse.
Look at their catalog, it is huge. Only problem is the pics are drawings. We just got a brick & mortar close to us (probably due to me. Their tee shirts rock also. Extra long as I am 6'4" so no draft).
Try a pair & you will not be sorry.
I sound like I work for them! Lol

I shall hopefully wait for a holiday sale. The wife doesn't understand the problem if I only do it once a year.
Sure, but what about the thickness/strength of the steel. I bet factory would buckle!
Hopefully they do a holiday sale!
    Thanks.

I was stating that the thin factory skids are more prone to cracking.
Aftermarket steel or aluminum is better than the stock skids. Plus the fact they just neglected service access points. Silly!
Any skids with access on sale for the holiday might be a "present" to myself!
Thanks & sorry for the confusion.

I'm waiting on my victory4X4 front engine skid. Ordered on black Friday, so pretty good deal. Wish they made a filler plate / radiator skid that went from the front of the engine skid to the bumper just to tie in the look better under there.

And... I went and picked my 4runner up from the Toyota body shop collision center today... They fixed the chip that the dealerships service dept put in it... It was ABOVE the door handle... So they painted the whole door... I wish I was making this up... But while putting the door back together they chipped the fresh paint UNDER the door handle... I shit you not!!!

It's a small chip. Bout the size of the top of thumb tack, and there's a few scuffs. Happened while the guy was putting the door handle back on...

In any other situation I'd just ignore it... Get a touch up paint pen and fill it in, but at this point I'm so fed up with these people I'm going to make them fix this too. It was getting late and they're closed on the weekends, so I took it home but they said they'll fix it, I just have to take it back Monday.
    This is getting old.

Damn. I "liked" your post just so I could "unlike" it.

    That is some serious bullshit.

I'd have probably flipped out on someone.

I've came close a few times already... But something I learned years ago in court mandated anger management was... The person who gets angry first loses... I don't know how to get loud and that's it. Normally once my voice raises my hands are next... It's not worth it at all.

That sucks. I would make them take a door off a new one on the lot. If they don't have your color tell them dealer swap

When you get your skid mounted up take some measurements and I can compare it to my RCI skid/filler plate. If it's close the RCI filler plate may be an option for you since Victory doesn't have one yet.
