Beautiful bike! I've been eyeing Africa Twins. My wife works in healthcare and reminds me of that every time I bring up getting a bike. She doesn't mind dirt bikes, so maybe I can convince her it's just a really big dirt bike.

 

This works on the door windows too, for those who didn't know that.

Not on my '19. Just tried it now. My key also isn't programmed to roll down any windows with the fob, which I know can be done. The back window can go up/down with the key, I've done that plenty of times.

 

By default, the door windows aren't programmed to do that. I had the dealer enable it along with the remote option. The sunroof can also be linked to the windows.

In case anyone else was annoyed by objects sliding in any of the window pockets. It works well, I like the red trim.

2 minutes with Carista and you can make the windows roll down with both the key fob and turning the key in the door.

Best $20 i have spent on my 4runner. No more eco bar, no more seatbelt dinging, and windows roll down with key fob, so on hot days i can roll the windows down as im walking up to the T4R.

 

Do you have the Carista OBDII adapter? I tried Carista with the OBDLink LX and it won't customize, only read codes. In the meantime, I just keep the transmission in 5 to avoid the Eco bar.

 

Lock the doors with the key and hold the key in the lock position for a couple seconds, this will close the windows. Unlock the doors with the key and hold the key in the unlock position for a couple seconds, this rolls the windows down. Now to be clear, by key, I mean the actual metal key inserted into the key cylinder on the door itself.

Yea i got the carista adapter, and the carista app... Im just using the free trial. Im cancelling it tomorrow evening so i dont get charged. But i have already did all the customizing i need to on my T4R and my wife's Camry. Tomorrow im helping a buddy with his Tacoma before cancelling it.

I believe that's the case. I'm not super educated on older models, but that makes sense. In any case, the buttons are awesome and the 2020 is equally awesome.

 

Toyota makes some odd changes. For instance; the video about hidden features of the 5th gen that was actually about 4th gens. In that video you can watch the person just tap the key forward to start the truck. I tried it & it cranked like one revolution. No start.
The more I think about it. Maybe the key for window is a carista unlock also. I will go check when I get home in 20 minutes.
There are a lot of yearly changes that you would have to keep up with.

One question I have (haven't been off concrete, or out of town in our T4R.). If the GPS is in the microSD card. Yet your vehicle signal is still sent via a satellite. Why can't yearly maps be updated. Why does only the limited have the "S.O.S" button? That is just silly! Okay 2 questions.
I just try to understand & cannot. Sorry for the rant.

That doesn't work on mine.

 

It will work with ALL of them but you have to enable it with carista, techstream, or similar. It was done on some 4runners at the dealership before delivery, some people had it done at the dealership service center after they buy it, and some, like me, just pay the $20 bucks for a carista OBD2 dongle and do it themselves.
