    That's not going to do.

Strip to bare metal and re-paint.

It’s not ocd to want paint to look correct.
    And opinions are like assholes.
I asked nicely for help, you’re not helpful.

Got these side covers for my birthday. Not sure why Toyota didn't include them, I never liked the open compartments. Easy install for the top cover latch. Everything is pretty dirty in the photo but you get the idea.

I really should add those to my truck, every time I see a pic of them closed off like that it reminds me how I dislike the open look.

    uh-huh.......
I will submit for your consideration..........
Several decades ago I tiled a 9' x 15' entryway. Having never tiled before, and before the age of internet/YouTube, I asked a professional tile layer with years of experience to help me get started, tips, etc.
He stopped early first day, layed half dozen tiles to get me started, showed how to mix mortar, use spacers, etc. Would stop back in afternoon to see how getting along.
When he stopped by several hours later, not only had I made no progress but there were fewer tiles in place than he layed that morning, a bucket of dried mud that I'd troweled dozens of times only to scrape up and discard. His first comment was "you lay tile different than anyone I've seen". My reply was "I just want it to be right".
Job took me 3 full days. Tile saw rental alone was.........Anyway.
You'd have needed a micrometer to find any variance in the grout joints. Job done right.

Appreciate excellence as much as next guy. Understanding these are for extraction points. Be a pity when you have to use them. But you're not OCD, so you'll be fine with the paint damage after use. Me, I'd have to start over.

Removed the side steps, added yellow Lamin-x film to the fog lights, and added blackouts to the grill. Painted some emblem overlays in bronze but I think I need to sand them and retry.

The front little cubby compartments need enclosures too. Anything you put in there will eventually fly out. I have seen some for something like 35.00.

Why Toyota changed that upper grille in 2020 will forever remain a mystery. I've seen more posts on blacking out that chrome strip than I can count.

Drove our '23 #2 around a bit. finally broke 1k mile mark. I drive my copy a bit more so once in a while we have to pull #2 out of the garage to get it warmed up and do its annual oil change.

My wife always asks why I feel the need to clean the vehicles before road trips. It just feels right.

Eibach stage 2, SPC uca's, cornfed 1/2 spacer rear, needle bearing, 17x8.5 255/75/17. Got about 150 miles on it today. Rides and handles great. The coilovers gave me 3inchs out of the box up front almost 2in in rear. Wanted little bit of rake. I'll give it time to settle and adjust as needed. Like for it to be 2.5-2 3/4 front.
