Finally swapped the 14 year old spare for a proper tire.

If that tire was 14 yrs old, it’s a good thing you were never in a situation where you had to use it!
More than likely it would have gone to pieces in 5 mi or less!

6 yr life span on tires.

I am mistaken. It's close to 15 years old-September 2010. Yes, it should have been replaced long ago.

The texture of the tire is very odd. Driest tire I have felt.

Saker is correct. On my 13, right before the 10 year mark I had a flat and went to use the spare and it was basically not salvageable. So ended up having a friend pick me and the flat up to get it fixed. It then got traded pretty much right after, so I didn't buy a new spare. But now its noted in my memory so will monitor that going forward on my 23.

Yeah I usually trade by 4yrs due to getting close to 90k miles on vehicles since 1986. Now because I work from home it maybe different on years I keep this one. New 20-Nov-23 in the garage currently it has 8,752 miles TSN. May change if I accept a position that would require commute I believe under 50 mi 1 way. I probably will buy a commuter car just to keep the miles down on this??Have to see what they offer.
