feel like I’ve been to every decent hardware store in a 40 mile radius, obtained the perfect rubber grommet for the cargo ceiling shackles I’m experimenting with.

 

Took the 4R out to the forest and put a little mud on it. Wife and mine 1st trip off road in it. Nothing but gravel forest road and a couple small mud puddles.
Looking forward to really getting it dirty this summer.

Give me the part #'s and / or the specs on all hardware, please.

I guess I kinda came up with this cargo area tie down myself.
@Saker just tonight, I purchased 5/16” generic galvanized bow shackles, slipped them in, perfect fit to complete my idear.

•(2) M6 stainless shouldered eye bolt (1/2” I.N.). 6mm x 2-1/2”

The stainless bow shackles looked pretty good compared to the galvanized, but I imagine they are quite a bit more $$.

But, when I return the big 1/2 stainless shackles, I may see what they have for 5/16” and cough up the dough

 

25th wedding anniversary present. My wife got a nice watch, she asked what I wanted and I blurted wheels and tires! Just got them mounted up today, and am in love. (With the wife too I guess, haha!) Best gift ever. Baja Boss a/t in stock size.

 

You can but it will never be as good as the original. Just know that ahead of time and plan on re-doing it every couple of years.

woo-hoo. Ive read nothing but great reviews about those MT Baja Boss tires. I have AT3s on now but when those need to be replaced i am going with the MTs

 

Me too. I did tons of research and digging, and these tires always seem to be on top. They look amazing, and ride great on the pavement. Can't wait to get them out in the dirt, hopefully this weekend!

You were right.
I just went back and shopped at the marine store, again…and downsized from 1/2” to 5/16” stainless shackles.




Look at how many 5/16”stainless shackle choices there are. This isn’t even all of em.




I chose some gorgeous Captive Pin Bow Shackles. $17 Canadian Pesos each. (1/2” flush pin style bow shackles pictured above on the left cost $36 each!)

 

Got all the parts together, just need the time.

My sway bar nuts had broken, so a relocate was out of the question. Found out Apex makes a relocate with Rivnuts. Worked perfect!

Project “TRD skid plate” was done over the holiday weekend. Got an OEM skid plate for a deal but didn’t like the silver powder coating/red emblems it comes with so I sanded/bedlined with several coats. Gonna list a how-to with steps on my build page later. The black TRD letters came in this evening from Tufskinz finally so I’m about to throw it on in the garage the liner should hold up pretty well with my use case but only time will tell.
