Silver lining is that you need not worry about CV angles.

Nothing, you're measuring wrong. You measure from center hub to the bottom of the fender. You're 1.75 over stock, 2 tops until it settles.

no, I'm measuring correctly. From ctr of hub to bottom of fender went from 19.25 to 22.5, that's +3.25.I rechecked it a cple times. Not going to settle that much, pretty sure Watt maker is correct on the weight diff. Reading your sig I see you're SR5 also, are you 2wd or 4wd. thanks

I'm 4wd You were likely sitting lower than most to begin with being 2wd It's possible the 2wd suspension is different than the 4wd, not sure. OEM measurement on a 4wd 4Runner, every model other than the Pro is 20 up front, 22 in the back. So that puts you 2.5 over a stock 4wd SR5 It'll settle some but not more than maybe 1/2" or so.

I have found they work well when the blades skip or jump on the windshield due to colder weather. When my blades jump in the colder weather I turn em on an in about a minute they stop skipping...helps to soften up the rubber a lil on this cold days....in my experience.

What alignment numbers are y’all running with a 2.5-3” lift? Or just get back to oem specs? I know with my tacoma it was suggested to get 0°, 0°, 2.5°+ of caster. Just wondering if runners are any different.

I pulled my factory boards today. I have shrockworks rocker panels on the way and the SR5 trim pieces will be removed and replaced next.

I'm working on blacking the whole girl out (mostly). The grill came in this week and I have some parts on order (I have a '69-'74 Land Cruiser badge for the grill).

The factory rack will be painted black. haven't decided if I am going to plasti-dip it or maybe have it powder coated or cerakoted.

Anyways here are today's before and afters.

I measured from ground to fender with original tires before lift and right after lift with original tires (same location) Off the top of my head passenger front went from 34.75 to 38.75.

If you are interested in an even a semi-accurate measurement you'll have to go center hub to fender..on level ground with the tires straight.
If you are at 4 inches in the front I fear your CV boots will be rubbing and you angles will be too extreme.
Post a pic of your CV angles.

I'll take one this evening. CV angles dont look too bad and was able to get a decent alignment with factory ucas. It definitely ended up being 3.5-4 inches in front lift though. As you see I am reverse raked even with wheelers 1.5 (actually 1.25") rear coils.
    20190323_171142.jpg
I didnt want this much lift up front but I am kind of liking it. Will probably wait a few for it to settle and then decide on which size corn fed spacer to add to rear. And maybe a diff drop in front to help with CV angles. Idk.

Ppl dont buy this toytec front coil if you dont want crazy lift though.

Not sure why, but something got in me this weekend to remove some chrome.

Took off the chrome tail pipe (never liked it to begin with) and the chrome SR5 badges (never bothered me but it looks much cleaner without them). Happy I did it.

Next up might be painting the Toyota and 4Runner badges. I'm not really a fan of the blackout badges so I was thinking a gunmetal gray, but I haven't decided quite yet. The chrome on those doesn't bother me all that much either.

I really like the color of silver they chose for the TRD off road. However, they didn't continue it to the front Toyota or rear 4runner as you stated.
I may try & mix a batch of plastidip that matches the TRD off road. It really is a nice color.
It is the wife's truck so I will have to get her approval! Lol
I will take pics of the silver when she gets home.
Blackout is getting old. I have done it to every vehicle to date! Except my white Supra! RIP (sold)

I agree. I like that color. Not sure why they aren't consistent with the badge/emblem colors. Would that be too much to ask?

    Yikes brother!
That reverse rake is nuts, but the rear springs aren't helping either. I have a brand new, never installed set of 2 inch Toytec super-flex rear coils I can send if if $$ is tight.
I know that Toytec is very clear that 3 inch should be max on 5th Gen 4Runners so I am surprised the front end is so freaking high.
Diff drop will not help very much (I run diff drop as well).

Yeah, I really dont understand how it lifted it so high. I know I installed correctly and 5100s were on 0. Anyone have experience with these front coils from toytec? I couldn't find anyone running them and maybe this is why lol.

I dont think 2" rear could would get me level lol. I am think about switching to 2.5 wheelers or just adding spacers to these 1.5s.

How much do you want for them though?

Ordered a 5 channel amp over the weekend (kicker iq1000.5) that is slated to be delivered on Wednesday, possibly tomorrow based on where it's coming from. So tonight I did a little bit of pre-work. Built up a wiring harness, and then went ahead and ran my power wire. I also have a single 12" sub coming that I'm just going to run in a generic box for now, but I plan on making a fiberglass box for it that conforms to the rear driver side, like the taco tunes box... but... while I have made a fiberglass box before, it's a hell of a lot of work, so I might still cave in on that and just by the taco tunes box, lol.

Wiring harness is just the Metra 71-1761 and Metra 70-1761, tied into some 9 conductor speed wire. Plan is to run them down the center console to under the passenger seat. (I'm planning to mount the amp under the passenger seat).

Power wire ran from the battery, across the firewall, down into the large grommet on the passenger side, and down the side trim to under the passenger seat. It was pretty easy to poke a hole in that grommet and run the wire through (just need to be careful not to hit or disconnect the washer fluid tube).

That's as far as I'm getting for now; at least until the amp and other stuff arrives.

I plastidipped the Toyota logo on the front/grill on Saturday. Looks wayyyyyy better than the chrome did.. I too am good with the silver offroad color on the sides but need to change the chrome on the rear..
I was about to mask off and dip the rear but decided that may look a little half arse..
currently debating on maybe adding the vinyl over them to make black or possibly grey but can’t decide

Not sure why the couldn't carry the color of the TRD off road badge with the 4runner & Toyota symbol. Especially because the bottom of both bumpers match that silver.

How was the install? I assume it’s like most vinyl and pretty forgiving.. just wet down and stick/adjust, push out the bubbles

Since I have a white truck I’d be fine with blacked out badges. I’ll probably end up doing it this weekend

You cannot go wrong with black on white.
Ours is black & I am done with all black.
I will dip the rear 4runner & front Toyota a close to the TRD silver.
"When" I get the chance I will start another thread!
Is plastidip used/known a lot here?
I love the stuff for certain things.

    To be determined

Plastidip is used a LOT over on tacomaworld.. I’ve used it a few times with pretty good results.
I feel like the front badge will eventually show a little chrome spot here and there due to sand hitting it at highway speeds but the rear should hold up well
Plus side is you can always spray it again or just remove it altogether

I dipped my wife's old car's wheels & they lasted for 3 years till we turned it in.
We did do like 10 light coats so it wouldn't run.
