The tape that comes with those things is OK, but not fantastic. After my passenger knocked one loose using it as a door handle, I used some heavier double-sided tape from WalMart (I can't remember if it was Gorilla or 3M). They've been solid ever since.

 

Finally did the Homelink sync. Took longer to find the learn button on Genie Worm drive opener then to do the sync!! Only 9 mos since I bought this 4Runner.

 

It was kinda hidden , found it in about 2 minutes, If I had my glasses would've been easier. I hate getting old !

 

I cleaned up my overlanding wiring setup with input from some other board members in a separate thread I created.

End result is that I routed my dashcam and GMRS wiring under the gearshift trim into the armrest console. I then drilled a hole into the driver side of console to route the GMRS microphone wire and refrigerator wire.

I added a twist lock grommet that I got from Amazon. While the plastic felt cheap, it was fit for purpose. The grommet is covered completely with the driver seat in normal position. I was happy with the ultra clean results. : )

Arb skid plates and dr KDSS panhard relocation kit also came in!

 

I used an extension cable from Midland so I can connect and mount the GRMS hand held. The cable runs through the center console to the driver side dash to get a more cleaner look and easier to disconnect the handheld.

 

Are you talking about the frameless mirror homelink, or these buttons?




I programmed my buttons (1, 2 & 3) for my garage door/gate the day I drove my truck home from the dealership.

A middle-aged well-to-do white woman and her high maintenance dog... Yup, BMW really nailed their target demographic with that video.

 

That was just 1 of many. I picked it because it was direct, short & to the point. I don't give a rats @$$ who or what dog was in the video.

 

I've been trying to figure out which phone mount to get and I like your set-up with the longer arm. Which bullet point mounting-arm did you get? I looked on their website but found only the small arms or the colored ones. Yours looks to be black. Thanks!

 

Well that didn't work because hers doesn't have 3 buttons. No home link on this 230i Cpe.

Swapped the 200w panel for a 120w that actually fits between the rack rails.

I stand corrected it had been a while and I thought the arm was from BP but the 6” arm came from Amazon. Looks like they are out at the moment. My apologies I don’t know how to add link here, but here’s a pic.

 

That "visit your dealer" stuff really annoys me in a vehicle that is supposed to be ultra reliable. Once I had techstream it took a single click to reset the pre collision system--calling it a calibration is fake news.

Deleted the side and rear lights on the rack; pretty much never used them except for camping and even then the glare from lights pointing sideways was annoying.

 

Those are some SERIOUS pinstripes! Must have been an awesome ride!! I did some stuff on Saturday that will take a while to buff out too, its the price we pay for the fun we have.
