No ignorance to forgive. Nobody here knows everything so the only bad question is the one left unasked.

Their site says to contact your local retailer for pricing but as far as I know, it's typically less than $500 for a 4th Gen.

Send @JustDSM a note and he'll best tell you...I'd imagine it's between $200-$500 depending what one is needing...that is a wild guess, though...

    Thanks for the tags! :)

As mentioned, the most cost-effective option is to visit your retailer and have them perform the factory updates (all our calibrations are built on the factory-updated files) if required/not already done, and then have them apply the tune and work with you to find the setting you prefer. It should be noted that the retailers are all independent businesses with their expenses so that prices may vary depending on various factors associated with their operating costs. I'm unable to provide their pricing; you'll need to contact your nearest retailer for that information.

However, we do also have options where you can flash yourself with a "DIY kit" direct from OTT. We'll provide you with the hardware, software, licensing credentials, and calibration files for your vehicle. However, to take advantage of this, your vehicle must be (as mentioned above) on the latest factory update. This can be done through a retailer of ours or a dealer. If you happen to have TechStream, you can perform the update as needed. We're happy to provide the factory update files for you if they're needed.

Got the Ole girl back from the shop...I had them turn the rotors down on the front and throw new calipers hardware and pins on...I also had them throw new rear rotors and pads on...I NEED MORE FREE TIME!!

I have to say, though, she brakes VERY well, with no pulsation and the e-brake works like it should...I hate paying others to do easy stuff but man, I'm glad it's done so I can focus the freedom in hours I do have on other tasks...ha!

I used a 3 inch random orbital polisher. It took 2 passes with a clay bar first, then hit it with the polishing pad and glass polish, and buffed with a microfiber pad.

I got the "Overland Torque Tune" done on Saturday. Big thanks to Jeff Tillery of Relentless Tuning, a retailer for Justin's (@JustDSM) Overland Tailor Tuning. Working on a video and I'll also follow up in a few weeks when MPG data is available, but here are my first takes.

Read your review. Man, it makes me want to get a tune too. I just feel like i need my transmission/torque converter in tip top shape before doing it. Something feels slightly 'off' with either the transmission, torque converter and/or driveshaft on my 4runner. Shifting seems sluggish, especially with the A/C on. I wouldn't want to tune transmission shifting if its already not doing it 100% correctly. I think its just the 260k miles i have on it and its getting old.

Most important and easiest way to make sure your transmission is happy, make sure you have all of the fluid at the correct level...it's amazing how just putting enough fluid in makes your truck feel brand new...easier to do than one thinks and you'll know immediately when you crack the check-plug! Do that and wave that variable out!

I did have a local reputable transmission shop do a full flush like only a year ago or something. It was shifting fine but i feel like its slowly starting to just not shift as well. How long do the torque converters last? I also think my driveshaft may need to be replaced. I grease the zerks every oil change becuase I get a 'clunk'... its fine after new grease, but comes back near the tail end of my oil change interval until i grease them again.

Good to hear on the tranny service...TCs last awhile until they don't...you might start noticing slippage when grunting over hills or obstacles or when towing...that's a more normal sign of clutch slippage...a new TC can typically fix that...the driveshaft clunk if normal, unfortunately...I know I noticed longer intervals of the need for grease on the zerks when I switched from the Lucas Redstuff to the cheapest Moly-based grease from Walmart...that cheap grease is and has been a interval changer for me. Perhaps make sure your grease is full and moly-based grease? Typically the dark gray/near black stuff? just spit-baling ideas...

Mines some all-purpose Mobil1 grease, like a dark blue in color, very thick. Maybe i'll try changing it up for something that meets what you are suggesting.

My moto is always "what's the least expensive try first" and the moly-grease is a cheap, easy consideration...the blue stuff migh tnot be what you're "needing..." best $4 you can try!

The glass looks almost brand new. While admiring my handy work and the mirror like finish of the sunroof, I decided to condition the rubber seals.
Look what was rewarded with. :annoyed:

I wasn't pleased with the asetics of my last rear camera, so I splurged on the $29 Amazon "more OEM looking" camera to try out. I think I'll shim it someday, but it cleans up the rear better. I'll swap out the halogen bulb next.

I had no idea these test strips existed until I saw them in a Car Care Nut video. Everything is looking good. Not surprised because I try to keep up with this stuff, but it’s nice to have a way to verify.

I have SPCs and maaaan, as their latest design is better than the last two, I'd consider something different...JBA or even Dirt King would be advantageous...

I'm torn replacing the uppers and lowers in a kit from Freedom Off-Road (for lifted 2-4"), or just replacing the uppers with them.

I did OEM LCAs just recently on the Fred Anderson 20% off Memorial day sale and rebuilt my SPCs with their new bushings and maintenance-free UBJs and couple months before...so far, it feels magnificent!

Washed and vacuumed out the 4runner last weekend. She's been on the backburner with my Mustang project taking up all my time. Recently did valve cover gaskets, EGR gaskets, Throttle Body gaskets, cleaned everything out (TB/EGR filled with gunk), air crossover tube connected to the heads was completely clogged and throwing codes, painted my valve covers, upper intake and EGR, removed and sent out my injectors for cleaning/flow testing... 4runner gets neglected for sure, lol:

Not much. Its a Paxton Novi 1220SL 'low boost' kit, only advertised as 4-6lbs. My engine is a stock high mileage (167k) motor so i didn't want to push it too much. I've started gathering parts for an engine rebuild/upgrade. I already have the TrickFlow Twisted Wedge heads sitting in my garage. So at some point it'll probably turn into a rebuilt 306 with a H/C/I package, plus the supercharger.

After the supercharger warranty expires, and the engine is done, i'll upgrade to the 'high output' kit that is 8-10lbs of boost (depending on if i can get away with that for CA SMOG purposes).
