Can't blame you there. 24 year old seized hardware is hard enough as is. I think I broke all but one of the bolts holding my running boards on, and I had to have a neighbor help me torque the hitch bolts and break those too. You'd be surprised how much the torch helps though, it was invaluable when a friend and I were replacing my suspension

Put low-test in it for once. But from one of my favorite gas stations. Then did ten mph above speed limit everyone still riding my rear trying to figure out what that black tag is.lol

    New mats.

Seat bottoms are new so once I replace the seat backs, the interior will look much better.

Had my tint guy come get my tint done while I was working. 5% in the rear and sunroof, 15% in the front. No more driving around in a fish bowl!

Got in my new lift gate struts today. They’re so much better. I don’t have to lift the door for the last 1/3 of the way anymore.

I had a couple of missing door panel trim clips so I was able to order OEM ones on eBay for a couple bucks. Getting everything dialed in little by little.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Our 99 4Runner had those missing when we bought it a few months back.

We got a pack of 10 from the dealership for about $9.00. They're so easy to put in my lovely wife, with bad arthritis, had no trouble with them. We stopped and picked them up, and she had them in before we pulled out. A quick "pop-pop" and she was done. Really surprised me. I thought we'd need a rubber mallet. Now we have plenty of spares

    Lookin' good!

Walked out to the garage and saw the FedEx guy slipped under my 1/3 open garage door and put my WeatherTech mats in there. Now I’m going to shampoo the interior before I install them.

Ended up pulling the lift gate struts back off and ended up doing the nylon spacer mod. I didn’t feel safe with the crumbling OEM ones anymore.

Went to the junk yard this morning to look for a cup holder, rubber grommet for my headlight, a grille since mine is missing a clip, and a plastic cover for the backseat post. Not surprised to find the few 3rd gens they had were completely scavenged through. I was able to find the plastic cover though. I guess it’s onto eBay for the other parts.

After some Clorox wipes, good as new!

My shampooer I ordered on Amazon also showed up today. I was able to the entire interior done finally.

Now that the carpet is clean, I finally installed the WeatherTech mats. Stoked with the fit.

I recently installed my Light Bars (42" upper and 22" lower). I've been hesitant on doing this just because of the drilling involved and finally got (the cajones) to do it.

So first, I did my lower 22" light bar first. I thought about cutting the plastic grill to flush mount but i was reading a bunch who opted to do the Stealth mod which i liked so i went with that.

I saw there was already a straight Radiator bar that i could use to mount but needed to fabricate a brace so off i go. Got a 3' Zinc slotted bar at the local HD and cut 2 7 1/2 inch pieces. I then mounted the lightbar bracket to that.

then mounted that to the Radiator bar behind the grill. Did this on both sides.

Next ( a couple of days later actually), i tackled the Upper 42" lightbar. I dry fitted the rooftop configuration and just didn't like it. So, I opted to flip the mounting brackets from a roof mounted to windshield pillar mounted. It just looked cooler and it would further reduce wind drag. Plus, when it was roof mounted, it really made the Light Bar look super tiny. the plus side was the side profile made it look like my TR4 had horns. ;)

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Ran the Wiring along the Windshield channel and into the engine compartment.

    And Voila!!

    [IMG][IMG]

    What do you guys think?

Ordered the Jose’s Original Equipment side panels as well as the slap recovery extension mount for when I get the Prinsu up top. If anyone is interested, he’s got the next preorder live. Orders will ship out in December.

After about 300 miles driven since these mods I can tell a difference in driving the 4runner. It holds gears better and is definitely more responsive. At higher RPMS seems like it pulls harder as well granted it it is a 5 speed. For about 30 bucks I would say the mods were definitely worth it.
