My excuse to drive. It runs so good (I had to stop for a deer), I feel my life is complete and whole. I’ld like to thank; GM, Borg Warner, SLP, ACDelco, 6EC6503F-BF18-418F-8488-5F51B053AE5C.jpg

I left a gallon of milk in the trunk of the “S”.

    For two weeks.

I haven't seen one of those GMC Syclones in years! The Jimmy version was cool, too. Pretty quick vehicles for their time with nearly 300hp and 13-sec quarter miles. They have got to be worth some good money these days with only 3,000 of them made.

My dad gave me his old beater 2007 Chevy HHR for free. 209,000 miles. Smells like mice since he left parked next to a field for a year, and pretty much a total POS. I wasn't sure it was even worth paying the $150 to register it.

The day I brought it home after charging the battery and filling up three tires...

    vvvx-MMERpeoWJk-cn1K8w.jpg

I threw up a little cleaning out the interior. It was bad.

    TuNuP3R9Rtacj1F3xgIDnQ.jpg

After a couple of days of scrubbing and some creative use of black spray paint, it actually looks kind of cool.

I've been driving it for a couple of months now and have put a couple of thousand miles on it, which are miles I have not had to put on the 4Runner. It averages over 30 mpg, which saves me the cost of insurance every month. The AC is ice cold, tires are holding air, and I get the occasional thumbs up from people that think it's an old panel wagon when I go buy. More thumbs up than people pointing and laughing, which is nice.

It still smells funky, despite two odor bombs being set off in it, the check engine light comes on occasionally. You can see the OBD scan tool I keep in it in the passenger door, lol. The stabilizer bar end links are bad, and I can't sit up straight in it and I'm only 6'2".

Still, my total investment is about $200, and pretty sure I can get that out of when something catastrophic happens and I sell it. I've looked at putting an LS1 in it, but I don't think it's possible without completely gutting everything and fabbing a frame and subsection.

Ya I was gonna ask if you pushed it out of garage. 3 years or 50,000 miles. Turbo doesn’t hold a tune does it?

Well, after getting a cap/rotor a second time. It fit. Apparently this is the same 5.0 Mustang engine. I’m researching plugs. There should be a label in the engine compartment with the plug type and gap. Or I’m just gonna take one out and read it, install the same brand.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
    I drive my 87 pickup when we're not using the 99 4Runner.
It STILL runs great. I bought it in 88, with only 30,000 on the ODO. Now it has 372,000. Every time it turned another 100,000 over, I pulled over where I was and did the "Happy Toyota Dance" around it. Every time, a Arizona Highway Patrol pulled over, and politely asked me just what the HECK (edited for family forum) I thought I was doing. They all got a huge laugh out of it. :)
Could use a new radiator, finally, after only about 30 years, but hey, nothing lasts forever :D
I put an all-metal, 3 core, radiator in it about 30 years ago. When I lived in Yuma. A cool evening is 100° F there, so I figured a 3 core would be a good idea. It's finally getting clogged a little. The down tubes, not the fins.
Other than that, it's in great shape for it's age.
    Wish I were...
    Pat☺

I may be adding a 91 Camaro back to the stable. My dad’s RS. Got a chance to get it for $800 bucks! The wife’s not thrilled. It’s an auto/V-8.
