I'm reminded of a specific F-4C tail #410, it was a USAF bird. Avionics hanger queen at Eddies air patch back in the mid and late 60's. Something about its(F4's) inability to drop napalm(SEA) and stay out of its way. Did a search for it some time ago(some birds we never forget) and found that it had been returned to service but was lost in a stateside accident. Birds we'll never forget. C130 A model 0005(balls 5) was still flying during my tour in Nam. Trivia to some. Aviation history, to others.

Thank you. Yeah it’s a wild world we live in that’s partly the product of a few bad apples. Still though, wouldn’t change a career if I was offered it. 15 years in and still love being a part of something with purpose.

Being an airplane guy, I love learning the history of airframes. I remember working with the USNR @ North Island a few years ago, and one of the pilots in my class told me that a helo he used to fly was on the deck of the Midway. Man, walking the Midway is cool, and it's a must visit every time I'm in San Diego. I also stop by and check out all the aircraft on sticks when I go on base, and actually read the plaques if they are there. I've been on some foreign military bases in S. America and Europe and they usually have interesting airplane gardens...lots of types that we don't see here in the US. Here in Denver, we have a little museum where I used to volunteer in the restoration shop with B-52 serial #3, and a very early B-1. Some day I'll scan all of my pictures from 35 years of working aircraft and do some research. Some day too I'll catalog my patch and coin collection!

Did you hear the one about the guy at the airlines in charge of emptying out the honey buckets after every flight? Day in, day out it’s all he ever did.

Then he was layed off…he was absolutely emotionally crushed. He was heard sobbing “But I have aviation in my blood!”

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
When we went on det to Clark AFB, when it existed, anywho, I got bored one night and wandered into the AF hangar they had parked us behind. They were working on a Phantom. Couldn't find an intermittent problem. I watched for a bit, and then asked them if I could help a little. Since they were stuck, they said why not?I looked at their trouble for a second, went to a certain portion of the radar, and used...ummm..."percussive troubleshooting". I beat the living crap out of the radar.
Fixed their problem, too :D Sometimes, it just takes a errrrr..."light" tap in the right place to fix the troubles you have.

My oldest daughter spent 20 years in the Navy. She's a plank holder on the George W. Bush, I think it was. Might be the GR FORD. Lousy memory I've got. She always kept a big bottle of Miralax with her on-board the boat :D

Sorry, just rambling. Carry on, all!

It is a cool walk. I was stationed on the Midway from 87-89 in Japan. Funny how much paint was holding that bad boy together.
