Engineering technician. Hafta make sure and provide correctly the automation, and manual stations too, for the electric motor manufacturing & assembly lines.
But I still prefer combustion engines, for now anyway. Lots of off road trails here in Northern Nevada for my ICE 4Runner

Scottiezilla, I used to work the midnight shift, when I was in the Corps, 11 pm to 7 am, sun-fri. We would be the first crew of the week in on sunday, and open the building for the week's business. The last crew to leave for the weekend would just unplug the 32 cup coffee urns, but leave whatever was in it, in place. We'd come in and dump the coffee in our cups and nuke it, so we had coffee until fresh was made. Nothing like some coffee, made by Marines, that's sat for the weekend. It's seasoned :D

Trust me, though, after having had some really amazing tasting meals made from combining various c-rat main meals, and some seasonings, often in a steel helmet (no kevlar then!), out in the field, a cook who knows what they're doing is good as gold!

CTB Chris, thanks for the rides :D
It wasn't my bag, but all Marines are brothers, so for them, I thank you for getting them "there" safely! I may have taught some of them how to shoot right, who knows.

For all the rest, I thank you for your service. It takes a lot of time away from loved one, I know. For those that weren't military, I appreciated whatever it was you did/do. It takes everyone to make the whole thing work. I am very grateful it DOES work, too.

Have fun all, whatever, and wherever, you do, or don't do, now.
    Pat☺

    Semper Fi, Brother.

Truckers tie this country together. Food, clothing, equipment, you name it, they bring it. I am very grateful for the hard work they do, and the hassles the cops etc give them.

When it comes, I hope you're still a 4Runner owner, and can take it off-road for some FUN! :mudding:

    Take care, gang!

Sir, how is the money in trucking these days, is it worth it? I'm kind of hating my job. What if I start driving trucks and later on my own truck?

Did you write a check to buy your 4Runner, or you borrowed money? And what is your net worth? :);)

How is the money in the job you're hating? For me, it's not always about the money. If you do something you like doing, the money part is kind of a bonus. The money in trucking is good, the trucking industry has been short of drivers for a long time, so companies are trying to give 'incentive/pay' to individuals with interest and skill. Owning your own truck is not for the person who does not want to dedicate free time, resources(money) and absence from family to it. Almost like owning a 4Runner, except the part about absence from family. Good luck.

Retirement is not an option. I've watched my father and grandfather die within 2 years of retiring. The other grandfather was a musician, lived for a long time playing the cello, despite ignoring his doctor's pleas to stop drinking.

I have worked as a geotechnical engineer in consulting for about 36 years. In addition to doing a lot of reviews on engineering projects, much of my time these days is spent mentoring and providing geotechnical engineering support to junior and mid-level engineers, thus the 'babysitting'!
