None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
10 years in the Corps, F-4 and A-4 radar tech, down to the individual component, transister, capacitor, etc. Marksmanship instructor, rifle and pistol. Being Marines, most of the last job was standing around watching safety on the range. Sometimes, the guys needed some updates on their technique.
    Except the WMs.
They didn't used to teach them to shoot in boot camp, but while I was an MI, they decided ALL Marines were basic riflemen, male or female. Which is correct. Just look at the enlisted rank insignia, sometime. Crossed rifles. We had to teach every woman on base (Yuma) to shoot, and get them Qualified (certain minimum score). We had 3 days per class. THREE! One day of verbal instruction, with the rifles in hand to practise with (dry firing), then a day to fire live rounds for practise, then a day to qualify. I noticed that women are either natural shots, or can't hit a barn from inside it, no matter how hard you try to teach them.
We also had to qualify all the female MP's on the pistol range. With the .45's. MOST of them did amazingly well. Some, not so much. Heck, the weapon was bigger than their hands could hold, in some cases!

Anywho, got out, went to work for the US Customs Aerostat Site, Yuma, as Lead Electronics tech. 71 meter long helium balloon, similar to the Good Year blimp, but tethered to the ground, noone in it Radar hung under it, to look DOWN on all the planes trying to sneak drugs, etc, into the US from South of the Border. If it had a wire in it, it belonged to the E-Tech shop. Then moved up to Flight Director. I ran a crew, 2 mechs, 2 e-techs, 1 General Laborer. I studied the local weather for dangerous conditions, made sure all the misc work got done, ran the balloon up or down, as needed. Made sure the crews stayed safe. AND consulted with the e-techs, as needed. We sent the radar's data over to Riverside Air Force base, California, and they sent the required troops, planes, helicopters, etc, out to grab the bad guys.
That was when I got my pickup, and later on the 4Runner. Thankfully, the mechanics on site were VERY knowledgeable on vehicles in general, and they all had at least 1 Toyota. I learned a LOT from them. Everything from what to do on a basic tune up, oil change, etc, to the little tricks that help with cars and trucks. I even learned some braising, cutting, and welding, arc, MiG and TiG.

Had to retire due to medical troubles. I was on pain killers, heck, still am, and I didn't trust my faculties to keep the crews safe adequately any more. Finally, after the 5 kids that were with me got old enough, and moved out, and I was able to get the heck OUTTA Yuma. Hated that town, and it was getting worse and worse. If you didn't speak Spanglish, forget about getting any help in a store of any kind. I couldn't walk out my front door without at LEAST a sidearm on, or the neighbors would be on me. Biggest chop shop in Arizona, huge drug hub, illegal transport, dog fights, you name the crime, they probably were into it.
Some real good off-road fun around Yuma, though. I could spend a couple days just out boonie hopping, fishing in the Colorado river, what was left of it, swimming, you name it. Beautiful nights! Massive number of stars all over the sky.

Move up here to Oregon, and now life is peaceful and quiet. At least so far. Gives me time for vehicle maintenance, and I've done some 4-wheeling around here. Beautifull place. Peaceful. Nothing at all like Portland, thank the deity of your choice.

Sorry, I ramble on, most of the time. Good fortune to all! Stay safe, and enjoy your 4Runners in your own ways :)
    Pat☺

Nice post. I lived several years in Oregon back in the 70s - Eugene/Springfield, Newport, Bend - loved that state. I wasn't necessarily aligned with their overall politics - but the beautiful areas, the parks, the dunes, the vast amount of awesome riding areas (and no gators, water moccasins & all the other nasty critters found in Florida) made for a lot of memories...

Really a great forum. Everyone is very helpful and welcoming. Makes having a 4runner even better. Been on other forums for other cars and it’s always a bunch of egos and people thinking they are better than you.

Yessir. 20 & out (here in AZ that's a full pension). I was lucky with my timing. Cops here in AZ are retiring and/or resigning at epidemic levels due to the lack of support. No one is signing up, either. We are in for a very bad next several years of crime.

I have 24 years on but I'm not old enough to get out. I at least have relocated to a friendlier state and I'm no longer working in a patrol capacity.

    Long story Sorry

Relatively qualified across the board but I relocated to DE right before the world shut down
Didn’t have enough time at my previous job(in DE) to really collect
Heard a lot of people were doing “fake interviews” such as going in for one n saying “don’t consider me, I just need this to show for my unemployment”
Meanwhile, I’m applying everywhere, using all the job websites n waiting on weeks n weeks of replies/follow-ups
I’m a paper application kinda guy
So I heard bout this nonsense happening at a restaurant I liked
Scheduled interview, wasn’t promised many hours by the manager, but still went
During the unpromising interview, an owner showed up n flipped everything round…”can you do this? How bout this? Etc…”
The husband/owner shows up(who I thought was just a random employee) n asks if I can make a cheesesteak
I said “I’m from outside phillie, can you make a f***in cheesesteak?”
Soooooo started that day n I’m technically “the person” on paper as a chef/server/bartender in 2 of their restaurants, n a barista manager at 2 of their coffee/fresh baked goods/retail spots
i have cooked for 25 years because my mom n sisters became vegetarian one day n my dad can only cook burnt stuff, so I learned in house by watching my mom, not a real kitchen, n I have never been to a Starbucks n drink coffee that’s old) but I kill it

oh also been playing the market since 9th grade
