I have a 1997 with a manual shift. Sometimes the floor mat slides under the clutch pedal and it is hard to start (the clutch start button is not sufficiently depressed). So I yank it back up and away we go. But I have worn a hole in the driver's mat and was thinking about Weathertechs. However, they look bulky and I don't want them to be in the way under the clutch pedal.

Any experiences here? Or thoughts on favorite alternatives?

    Thanks!

You should be fine using WeatherTech floor mat on a manual.

I've got these for my 5MT and they are perfect, not as bulky as they seem, and certainly no issues with the clutch - they also come with replacement hooks so it doesn't slide on you. They replaced some no-names after I had the same sliding issue as you do.
