CBI plate rear bumper with swingaway, SPC Light Racing UCAs, ARB SS170HF Safari snorkel w/ Afrikaans centrifugal pre-cleaner, Tacoma antenna mod, TRD Supercharger w/ URD 7th inj. & URD pulleys, Anti-Dark engine bay lighting system. Having gone 250k, Aug 2016 was the time to replace the original clutch & get the driver's seat rebuilt/stuffed. Front & back Weathertech liners. Tundra front disc brake swap. Full length Rocky Mountain Rack with 40" lightbar & alternating strobe rear dust lights. I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new from old stock 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
My current insurance company has decided to drop me due to an "unapproved engine modification", i.e. my 4th gen 5VZ-FE S/C. Has anyone else had this bullsh!t happen to them?

I've been with them since 2003, on my 3rd vehicle with them, always on time with my monthly payments & this year switched to pre-paying 6 mo. at a time in full, never a claim other than a (1) windshield, full coverage w/ $200 deductible, no tickets, nothing. (wtf?)

They've given me the option to "remove the modification" & keep my policy. (again, wtf?)

I guess I'm looking for suggestions from those who have done a s/c install & their ins. co. didn't drop them.

Names of companies other than Geico would be helpful.

    Thank you,

I'd uninstall it, ask them to come over and verify it, then re-install it after. F em.

That seems a bit ridiculous to me. Mind sharing which Ins Co. so we can stay clear?
We've been with Progressive since 2010 and they've been good to us. No superchargers on our vehicles, but they are all modded/lifted and I have a minimum of $5k aftermarket parts coverage on all 4 of our vehicles on the policy. Hell I think I have $12k aftermarket parts coverage or something around there on our '05 4runner.

A few things here and there. Still dreaming up stuff
Make them prove it was not factory. Good luck on that. If it continues go to Farmers or Progressive, they are pretty good for the most part. I have USAA so I don't worry about shit like that. We have a total of 4 claims this year between the house cars etc. Never an issue at all. Paid it right away and work is done right.

I'm curious how do they know you added the supercharger?

I'm one of those people that has a complete history on it since purchase. What paperwork are you asking about?

Mine actually covers things like superchargers and anything else added to it. They just want receipts.

We have MetLife. I've also had 2 windshields replaced with them (i70 seems to love my wife's Highlander and my truck) under the glass coverage. Zero issues.
