Just saw a TFL video as well. Very interesting they would make it out of a more base model, but nice to see not all the hype go to TRD trims. Definitely looks clean

This really (really) seems like the 5th gen swan song. And while I was guessing it would be called a “Heritage Edition”, pretty close.
Appears like these will be quite scarce with around 2000 being available.

What do you guys think of the solar octane color? I currently have a 2019 Voodoo Blue Pro and am on a wait list for mag grey 2022 Pro. I've been waiting since January with no luck so I'm gonna contact my dealership and see if I can just switch to a 2023 Solar Octane Pro. Who knows when that would even arrive. When do you think the first 2023s will start rolling onto lots in this environment. I'm guessing 2023 might be a short production year with the 6th gen expected to be announced next year.

I love my lime rush, but solar octane is just about the only color that could make me wonder if I should have waited, lol

Interesting. Motor Trend placed it at 2525. The more the better then!

I think everyone knew about the Solar Octane at this point. I am really digging the 40th anniversary one though.

The heritage edition looks hot. I think this shows that for sure shows toyota understands what 4runners mean to customers.

It’s kinda garish, it’s pandering a bit with the obvious retro cues, and I’d never feel comfortable owning one. But it’s a quiet nod to the “keep it old-school” crowd.

I think this means good things for the 6th gen. Toyota knows what they have to lose.

so just like the 80s fashion styles, pinstripes are back in fashion too? they're a bit much for my taste. but could be far worse.

i think most of us are not surprised that the 6th gen is still a ways away and the 5th gen saunters on.

They are really out of ideas for sales gimmicks.

Now going on 13 years for this design. Insane Toyota would make their fans wait this long for a new gen.

All the more reason for dealers to shove it up buyers buttholes. Really happy to have my 2016 TEP and not be in a situation to have to deal with dealers right now.

The press release doesn't specify Trail grade will continue. This edition sounds like the replacement.

    Quote taken from Toyota site:

The 2023 4Runner lineup covers a broad range of tastes and needs in a high-capability SUV. The line includes grades SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited and TRD Pro. The 4Runner exudes a rugged look in all grades yet maintains a timeless SUV style all its own. The SR5 and TRD models ride on 17-inch alloy wheels that are available in three designs: 6-spoke for SR5 models, 7-spoke for TRD Off-Road models and flow-form matte black alloy wheels for TRD Pro.

I would feel pretty stoked if I had a 2022 as for most trims, it does not appear that anything is changed for MY 2023.
Be interesting to see what colors will be offered, but at least the 3 offered on the 40th, are unchanged.

I hate my overlays and was debating ordering the black ones from the nightshade or painting to match the bronze wheels. HAHA

If I had to guess probably vinyl stripes which for the price they will probably charge you’d think they could paint it on.

Digging the 4th anniversary edition, but I think they should've used OR/ORP as starting point.

There's no way factories would spend the money to actually paint graphics like that, especially Toyota who is notoriously cheap with their paint.

Added graphics are 100% wrap/sticker these days. It's cost effective, quick to apply, and doesn't change a thing in the painting part of their manufacturing process.

I dig it. Nice that they used an SR5 as a base such that the buyer can build/add whatever they want. That being said, I'm sure the markup is going to be steep......which makes me think it really would have been ugly $$$$ wise had they chosen a TRD Pro for the 40th Ed. with the prices where they are at currently.

Am I missing something ? Appears the 6th Generation is delayed again till the maybe the 2024 MY (?) But then, I don't think that Toyota ever "officially" announced the start of the 6th for the 2023 MY.
