I was gonna get a TRD exhaust for mine until I read this whole thread. I bought a Borla Touring catback instead.

    Hello,
I have a 2018 TRD ORP and was wondering if the part number Toyota has on their website PTR 03 89200 will fit my vehicles exhaust system as it states 2020-2024 only. I see some on this thread have installed on other years than what Toyota lists it just want to make sure prior to pulling the trigger.

    thanks for any input

The TRD side exit exhaust fits any 5th gen Runner. I had it on my 19 TRDP and quickly got rid of it. Check BAM as well as local dealers for pricing.

I believe the difference is at 2020 it switched to side exit. I believe it should still fit all years as stated above.

If your looking for a trd pro exhaust check your local fb marketplace. Theres two in my area for sale both are under $500.

Prior to the 2019 or 2020 the trd exhaust was an add on even for the trd pros. After that it came from the factory on trd pros.

I have sensitive hearing and don’t really care for loud exhaust or exhaust that drones. I do like the TRP Pro Exhaust, sounds great, not too loud, very minimal drone. Wife likes it too. If I had a Gen 5 that didn’t have it, would definitely jump at chance to trade up to Pro exhaust.

I might be the first guinea pig to install the TRD Exhaust on a TRD Sport. Should be arriving this weekend. One thing I realized is the TRd Sport has a half circle cut out on the rear bumper where the exhaust comes out straight. Slightly concerned it’ll look a little funny with the side exit now. Still excited though :)

I hope you didn’t pay full retail like I did. The FB crowd were crying when I was selling it for $100 off after 3 weeks.

Haha! The great thing is, in this free-market capitalistic society we live in, I can spend my USD how I please with no impact on anyone else ;) I did check FB MP around me and nada pasada available. The great thing is, when you convert USD to Bitcoin over a long period, using USD for material items like exhaust upgrades has minimal impact in the grand scheme of things.

I keep considering this to be able to open the rear window while driving, don't like the rotten-egg smell. Is the drone really all that bad?

I’ve had mine on for a couple weeks now with the CAI. I dig it. Comes down to preference. Do you wanna hear your 4Runner a little or do you want complete silence while driving? I quite like the sound up around 3k RPM and the son likes it too (3 year old). Exhaust smell is reduced with back window down, but not all the way removed. If you like the result of the CAI, I think you’d like the exhaust as well tbh.

I have the TRD exhaust with the TRD CAI and the drone does not seem to be as bad. Maybe it’s just me.
