I had the trd intake and exhaust. Noticed no gain but it did sound good. The intake sounded like a beast with the pedal to the floor. Spring booster works by eliminating throttle response

Mind telling me the dealer? I haven't been able to find one here that doesn't charge MSRP

Is there any particular reason that the Toyota website states that it won’t fit on a 2017 limited version?

My guess is the rear bumper won’t clear the exhaust tip

Just wanting to make sure... TRD exhaust will fit a 2016 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium? From what I have read it should... just wanting to make sure.

If it doesn’t work out for him, I’d trade. I’m in the Seattle area and my 4R was bought new in December of 2019.

Hi Everyone. I've had my 2020 TRD Pro for just over a month now, and I also cannot stand the exhaust drone. Took a 900 mile road trip through the Penn/NY mountains, and my wife and I hated the sound. Read through several forums about the TRD exhaust, and found this gem of a thread! I'm interested in swapping/trading my TRD exhaust for a stock. My 4Runner currently has 1600 miles. I'm located in the Detroit metro area, and willing to drive within 100 miles or so for a comparable low mileage vehicle. I've got a floor jack, ramps, and tools, but no jack stands. Funny enough, my local dealers are asking $600+ for the factory muffler and tailpipe, but the TRD Pro exhaust can be had cheaper based on post #119!

I wanted to just replace the trd muffler and keep the side exhaust. Then winter hit and even kept very clean with ceramic coating the tip turned to trash. Not sure if it was the salt or now around here they spray chemicals on the road.. regardless I will turn my exhaust to blow out the side but will never get the trd again!

I just installed my TRD Exhaust and I have no drone or issue, it seems to make noise upon acceleration and then drops off when cruising. It also stopped the crap smell from the back window being down. Im pretty happy with it overall so Im wondering whats different with what Im seeing in this post.

Probably driving flat land with little to no load. When I had mine driving up a grade or with the rig loaded up or towing it became unbearable. Unloaded and flat it was fine.....until I added the trd intake. Then it was horrible and embarrassing to drive

Have you driven much on highway speeds cruising around 75mph? If there's any sort of incline - there is audible noise within the vehicle, and its not an exhaust rumble. Just noise. Having driven a 4Runner with a stock exhaust, the TRD version definitely (for me) has noise at cruising speeds that I find annoying. So when we drove through the mountains constantly going up and down, which then requires constantly adjusting throttle response - this noise became amplified and unbearable.

On the other hand, do you have KDSS? The additional mass could act as a sound damper, and help with the amount of noise within the vehicle. Or if your vehicle is loaded up in any way? We've got our back seats folded down, so it's an open space which could be amplifying the noise.

Anyhow, I'm in the camp that its gotta go. Other than the side exhaust, which I'll just have a local shop turn for me....and possibly a slight bump in HP - the TRD version has no benefit to me.

I just ordered mine today from my local dealer. I just shot them the online price and they matched it. Now I have to install it and convince the wife it isn’t that loud.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I installed mine last Saturday. So far, so good! I'm not setting 0-60 records or anything, but things feel less restricted when I give it the gas.
