Transmission Cooler Install ! 1992 4runner V6 Auto

    Good day !

    I have been a long time Toyota owner and have just purchased a mint 1992 4runner with the V6/auto/hydraulic t case.

    i would like to install a transmission oil cooler as part of my preventative maintenance on my new toy !

    This Vehicle has been maintained to the book so far and has been treated very very well.

    Can anyone provide me with info regarding installing a transmission cooler ?

    These transmissions from what i have researched have been known to produce a bit of heat, is this accurate?

    Is installing a transmission cooler necessary on these particular automatic transmissions ?

    Thank you for any insight that you can provide :)
