    Hello, I have a 2019 SR5 and a 2017 TRD OR tacoma.
I have Techstream and a Tactrix cable.

Our new 4runner has the flashing 1 minute on solid after TPMS light. The dealership we bought it from put on new tires. I expect they have broken a tpms transmitter. All wheels have TPMS style valve stems, except the spare it is rubber.
I lowered the spare, and aired all tires to 38 psi. They were all at 36 psi. The light pattern did not change.

Has anyone used Techstream to retrain or test the TPMS transmitters, or is it another proprietary toyota system or tool I am not aware of?

I appreciate any help or advice you have to offer.

    Thank you.
    Steve

I was under the impression that there is general tool for the tpms, not techstream - that is the "receiver" side, you need to fix the "transmitter" side.
My mechanic has one that covers a lot of brands, the tpms will be on a standard transmitter/receiver setup

a tool like this was used on my 4Runner and my mustang - https://www.amazon.ca/VXDAS-Ultimate-EL-50448-Activation-Multiplex/dp/B07FP933LV

the dealer can do that in 3 minutes and not charge you anything, if you have a good relationship with them

edit: drive the car for 20-30 miles, have you ready done that (in one trip)?

    Connect cable to obd2 port,
    open techstream,
    Turn 4runner on,
    From techstream, connect to vehicle
Run health check or go straight to tpms
The health check results will identify the sensor causing the tpms light.
The tpms tab/Data list will show current tpms pressure readings.

    Hope this helps troubleshooting

Ok installed Techstream on new computer and tactrix drivers. In TPMS info sensor is great on 2,3,4 temp and pressure data updates. Sensor one is registered but not transmitting. Looks like I am buying a sensor.

The old laptop was oddly enough buried in my oldest daughter's closet. My wife had put it up. Lol. She rocks, but things are hard to find sometimes.

Ok, has anyone used Techstream and a TPMS sensor activation tool to register a new sensor?

From testing in Techstream I can, if I like, put the 4runner in sensor relearn process. I do not have a sensor activation tool.

Anyone who has done this, I would be very grateful for your advice.

I can deflate, and break the bead myself, I can easily swap the sensor, reinflate, and return the wheel to the vehicle. I just have never pinged a sensor after selecting learn mode. I stopped working professionally with cars in 2011 and that was only as a service advisor.
