2013 Prius V; I know these didn't sell as well as the original Prius because they got *only* 42 MPG, but it would seem that they are more popular than I thought. I don't know if I just wasn't looking hard enough before or what, but since it seems that the Prius V is almost as common as the original these days, I will be going back to only taking pictures of Priuses newer than 2003 if they are customized or otherwise unique in some way; That said, this will be the last "ordinary" Prius V that I document for a while...

The ninth generation of Corolla (called the E130 in North America and sold here from the 2003 to 2008 model years) is not one of my favorite generations because unlike the E100 and E110 (sold in North America from 1993 to 1997 and 1998 to 2002, respectively) it looks rather bloated by comparison; Also, finding a totally stock one in decent condition is nearly impossible these days as the newest 9th Gen Corollas are now almost 15 years old and not very gently used! This example that is saw at Team Toyota on Sunday is one of those rare exceptions; It is a 2006 LE that supposedly has just 78K miles and is in pretty damn near flawless condition for its age!

I went to the Carlisle Import Nationals for the second year in a row, and it did not disappoint! One vehicle I was hoping to get pictures of was a Toyota Century, preferably a 1997-2017 G50 with the 1GZ-FE V12; Thanks to the 25-year loophole, it is now legal to bring 1997 models into the United States! Unfortunately, there was not a G50 Century at the Import Nats; However, it was far from being bad news!

The owner of a 1994 Toyota Sera, which I have also taken pictures of, recently acquired this 1993 Century; I was amazed when I found out that the 1st Generation of the Century had been in production for 30 years (1967-1997)! This is a 1993 model, chassis code GV40; I will post a a picture of a 1967 model that I found online later on; There are some changes, but much like the venerable Volvo 240, this 1993 model does not look all that different from much older examples!

This car has the 5V-EU V8 engine; I am hoping that with oldest G50s now legal to import into America, I will finally get to see one with the 1GZ-FE V12 in the very near future!

 

When the owner popped the hood, one thing I was surprised to see was that this car appears to have had R134a A/C refrigerant from the factory; In 1993, most if not all Toyotas built for the North American market seem to have still had R-12. Examples include the 1993 Camry that my barber used to own, but by 1994 Toyotas sold in the USA and Canada seem to have gone CFC-free...
