Hey all, new to the site (Love it so far) I have an 06 SR5 2WD with 72k and a 3” lift/level and wheel spacers. I wanted to keep my stock wheels because I like the stock look and I wanted to get bigger tires for it so it looked good with the truck. What are the tire options for the 17” stock wheels? Thanks for the input!

    Simply:

Lots of road driving? Light offroading?

    BFG AT/KO2: 31x17 or 32x17
    PROS: Quiet on the highway
    Incredible Sidewalls
    Functional siping
    Harder compound, wear slowly
CONS:Hard in the winter, not a lot of good traction
Price is a little steep- but you are paying for quality

Cooper Tire STT Pro: 31x17 or 32x17
    PROS: Quiet on the highways
    Average sidewall
    Aggressive siping
    Good bead
    CONS:Softer compound, faster wear
Sidewall will be penetrated by relatively sharp rocks when around 2.5-10PSI
    Again, $$$

    Michelin LTX AT: 33x17
    PROS: Readily available
    Cost efficient
    Extremely Quiet
    Good tread wear
CONS: Harder rubber compound, can be slippery in winter
Cannot air down as much, decent sidewall, but I never trusted them.
Not as an aggressive look as the others

Road Driving, Moderate to Heavy Offroad Use

    BFG MT KM2: 31x17 32x17
    PROS: Aggressive tread and siping
    Even tread wear
    Strong bead
Can run low PSI, strong sidewall
After driving 75mph for 50 miles, tire temps were average
CONS:They sing the song of my people on the highway.
    $$$
Still moderately hard rubber compound, but can be good with the lugs in snow
With your lift/level, be cautious with tire size as you may need to trim a little

Cooper Tire MTP Pro: 31x17 32x17
PROS: Aggressive tread and incredible siping
    Good tread wear
    Decent Sidewall
Can run low PSI without concern
    CONS:They hum. Bad.
They are a softer compound, and wear a little faster than most
If your alignment is off, you will see it on your treadwear within 1k miles

    Kelley Safari TSR: 31x17 32x17
    PROS: Pricing, pricing, pricing
    Even treadwear
    Good sidewall
Aggressive tread pattern and decent siping similar to Goodyear
    CONS: Soft compound
Noticed sidewall weathering and cracking early on (8 months)
Lost the bead lock more often than not at low PSI

    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac: 31x17
PROS: Name Brand, everyone loves them
    Kevlar reinforced sidewalls
    Aggressive tread and siping
    Good wear
    Relatively Quiet
    Medium/Hard Compound
    CONS: $$$
No sidewall punctures, but have lost the bead at low PSI

Hope that helps a little. In the end, there are HUNDREDS of manufacturers out there. These are just a few either I have run on my vehicle, or on client vehicles I have built.

    Have a good one!

Thanks for the help! I’d probably do light-moderate off-roading, I want a tire that will fill in the wheel well and look nice with the lift. Also open to getting new wheels but would prefer stock

Love my Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Aggressive looking all terrain and very quiet on the road.
