    I’ve ran the Ultimate9 throttle controller on my last two tundras and loved it. Ordered one for the 4R last week and will be installing it this weekend :thumbsup:

    How much was it? That literally looks like the one in Amazon for $45-$50.

    I recently got to drive a fifth gen with this gizmo on it. It was a 2021 model. I didn’t see what the big deal was. I’m not interested in getting one. I think it’s all smoke and mirrors. My 2022 SR5 Premium 4WD has plenty of zip for me the way I drive, old man (68) that I am. LOL.

    Two questions:
    1. Does the ECU factor in the rate of change of pedal position in determining how far/fast to open the throttle?
    2. Is the speed that the throttlebody opens controllable (and a sub-question, is it is capable of opening faster than if you slam your right foot to the floor)?

    If the answer to either of those is no, then the difference CANNOT be any more than the time it takes for you to plant your right foot to the floor.

    The ECU looks at a lot of factors, if it sees 0-90% throttle in 0.1s vs 0.2s and behaves differently then maybe these do something, otherwise, you get that signal there 0.1s faster and from there it is exactly the same.

    I thought it had been debunked that these things can eliminate throttle lag?

    The only thing they can do is make the ECU think you're pushing the throttle down faster than you actually are, giving the impression of reduced lag. The same thing can be accomplished by slamming the gas to the floor

    Just shy of $200 with a coupon I had. Since I’m plugging something into the gas pedal of the truck I didn’t wanna take a chance on a knockoff product to save money. I met the owner of ultimate9 years back at an offroad show and really liked what he had to say. They are the premium option and do loads of product testing which gives me peace of mind

    There’s no magic with just slamming your foot down.

    I actually had one in my Tacoma and it worked well. Got rid of it after I tuned it. The 4runner drives so well to me in comparison to the Tacoma that the 4runner in my opinion doesn’t need one.

    Banks Pedal Monster has the most features and seems to be the safest of all. Had the Pedal Commander on for a couple years but started looking at different options. Recently switched to the Banks product as I like the added safety as explained in the video.

    (No I'm not affiliated with the company just a satisfied customer)

    Here's the vid where I took the screenshot showing which throttle controllers have/don't have certain features;

    Well said. Or restated.
    The pro throttle device camp shouldn’t be using the term “decreases throttle lag”, but instead maybe something like “artificially increases throttle speed”
