    Nooooo!! Not like that!

I think a Miata would be a fun little puddle jumper. Maybe throw on a turbo. :notsure:

    1. I hate low profile tires and large wheels on a 4runner (things I hate in general, but especially on a 4x4)
    2. I sort of dislike the raptor lights, it was cool but now everyone has them
    3. Truck nuts (I just hate that these are a thing)
    4. Loud obnoxious exhaust, I don't get the appeal
    5. Weeb anime stickers
    6. Rust, nobody likes rust
    7. Funky wheel camber that ruins the handling and treadwear all for "stance"
    8. University Washington bumper sticker

I say to each their own (apart from no 3, just why!?), its just my opinion.

I'd hate to have to explain the mechanical purpose of the hood scoop........especially as I was power squinting thru the glare.....

And yet there are 440+ posts on the 5th Gen Hood Swap thread, the vast majority of which are looking to find a scooped hood to trade for their flat...

I sometimes wish I had traded my Skewp hood before it got a bunch of stone chips in it!.

The only purpose I can see in a hood scoop in the 4runner is it readily IDs as an OR model.....just badging.....

To see one swapped to an sr5 is just plain silly.....which is how I view the new TRD sport.

Not necessarily. I sometimes think the skewp actually reduces visibility when off-roading. Maybe if I were taller, It wouldn't be an issue. :D

Fakery in general makes me crazy. Wheels with fake bead locks. A hood scoop that does nothing functional, and worse is sometimes a problem due to glare and reduced visibility from the driver's seat. I hated the fake engine sound piped through the speakers in my BMW. Also the exhaust overrun burble. While it was an actual exhaust overrun burble, it was so predictable and programmed in by the computer, just for the effect, that I consider that fakery too. Fake cooling vents around the wheels are another common travesty out there. Fortunately the 4Runner doesn't come stock with much fakery. Well other than that scoop.... Oh, and the fake wood trim on the Limited. That stuff is ridiculous. Not just cause it's fake, and a bad fake at that, but because it's a lame attempt at making the Limited seems luxurious. It ain't luxurious, nor do I want it to be. If I wanted a luxurious truck I woulda bought a Lexus or wtvr.

I swapped my scooped hood away on that thread. Made a few benjamins and got rid of the scoop glare. Win win.

Damn you may be the only one!! I had a few bites on mine but it got rashed up off road pretty quick after I posted it, and then no one would touch it with the proverbial other guy's dick.

I wasn't around the 4R world back in 2001, but I can imagine the wails that were heard when it was announced the 4R would no longer be offered with a manual transmission...

"Also in the same vein as RTT's, people that leave shovels, axes, (and other junk they've never actually used) attached to their roof racks to look cooler. Settle down MacGyver, you don't need to do a recovery at your 9-5 as an insurance salesman. Take that shit off and leave it in your garage until you're on a trip.

    -Tory"

Doesn't do you any good in the garage! As a retired wildlife biologist living in the Cascade foothills, I have been caught in serious snowstorms as late as Memorial Day. Flash flood warnings (and mud) just this week.
