The 2022 how much and how long was your wait thread

I just put in my "order" for a 2022 TRD Pro, Lime Rush. This will be my first Toyota ever. Super excited about it. Thankful for this forum because I now understand the allocation process and it makes the 90-120 day wait less frustrating.

 

only 90-120 days for a pro? Which dealer did you order from and MSRP? I’ve asked a few and they’re telling me 3-8 months

 

I just changed my order yesterday from the 22 TRD OR, LR to the PRO and he goes well its going to take longer (the OR was estimated at 60-90 days), I said how much longer he said 90-120 days. I'm guessing more like 6 months, which is fine. But it was Haley Toyota of Roanoke, in Roanoke VA

Yes MSRP. My total cost after taxes, fees and addons was 56k

 

Nice!! Yeah the waiting game starts! lol. I just got my TRD ORP last month but thinking I should've waited and ordered a Pro instead. I don't want the LR Pro, just a white one so I'm thinking it shouldn't take so longer than the LR as it's not the new popular color that everyones waiting for. That LR just doesn't do it for me. I don't plan to fix it up or anything so maybe the Pro would be better for me. I've reached out to a few dealers so we'll see what they say.

 

Good options are out there, but it takes work to find them. I'm next in line for a dealer's next allocation in MGM at MSRP, but it's a few hundred miles away. As I got further into my research I began asking how long their wait lists were to gauge whether I wanted to place a deposit with that dealer or keep looking.

 

Ehh it's all good. It will go by fast just like everything else lol. I just called my salesperson and said hey, how hard would it be to change this order lol I'm very squirrelly and fortunately my salesperson is eccentric so it makes for a good combination lol I am one for the weird colors. I love a good in your face color haha. I originally wanted the Lunar rock color bc it is absolutely beautiful!! But they only have that on the 21 pro, so I just went with the next best weird color haha.

Luckily I live near this dealership, about 8 miles away. But I would've gladly drove farther if I found something where I could get it sooner.

 

ohh i know.. I had my fair share of searches. I received my ORP last month. I called 99% of all dealers in my state, none available they were 3-6 months out with me being the 100th person in line (kiddin). So I started branching to neighboring states to no avail. I'm in Ca and ended up purchasing my vehicle in Iowa. Smoothest, easiest transaction I've done. Didn't think buying out of state was this easy. No hassle, no upsell, no BS. Sales manager was wonderful to work with. I did find a few closer after I've placed my deposit with this Iowa dealer but what sold me to this dealer was their 20y/200k limited powertrain warranty that was included (free) with every new car purchase. I reached out to him last week and he told me 6+ months for a TRD Pro! lol

 

What really irritates me is when they put cars on their site that were sold before they even arrived. There was one, exactly like I ordered in Richmond, VA. If it's not available it shouldn't be put on your site....or that is what I think lol

Called to inquire about it and he goes it was sold before it got to the lot. He told me that if the person backed out he would call me but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. He said their wait was 6-9 months on the pro.

 

Yeah.. just not feeling it.

In a way, I actually prefer they do it that way. I put a deposit on mine and I saw them list it on their site. I wanted to be sure it was secured to me, so I inquired (pretended to be a interested buyer) about it and they told me it was already sold.

I believe all dealers (don't quote me on this) are required to put anything that is "in transit" to their inventory so it will pop up on their website.

 

Did you really just post a kia soul hahaha. It's not for every one. But hey its the color of "yoda" haha. My bf's truck is a 17 tacoma in inferno and I LOVE that thing (I picked it out, that's when you could go on the lot and buy cars haha)! Oh man do I love that truck. Both of us like that stand out color.

For those of us looking its not beneficial haha. I'll just have to be patient and wait haha, not my strongest characteristic

 

unless you prefer a ford focus in that color??

Ohh man, now the inferno is a sick color. I wish they'd bring back the 4runner in that color. I'd order one in a heartbeat. I'm partial to white, all my cars on my driveway are white but I will own a inferno if they did.

 

Uhh no lol no Ford Focus for me lol Yeah I love the inferno color. We go to Portsmouth Island in NC every September and hopefully mine will be in before then and we are going to take both the trucks and do you know those cutsie side by side photos haha.

 

But nonetheless, the LR will be a rare color for future sales if anything. Just like the inferno is now.

 

Oh yeah. I'm not buying it for the color. I told him that if one came in that wasn't that color but had the options I asked for I would take it, well except for red. i don't want the red. It has every option I could want and just happens to come in a cool color lol

 

1-I think they are required to post them
2-I would post them so if someone backs out, you may have a backup sale in the works.
3-If they don't post the incoming vehicles, they they would have no vehicles on their web sites.

 

I got mine in just under 30 days, but I was very lucky. I wasn't even looking for a Pro, because of the very reason you mentioned. NO ONE seemed to be doing MSRP for Pros. But then, someone changed their mind after putting down a deposit... I got a call from the salesman at a local dealer (one of about 6 or 8 I had inquiries in to), and immediately put my deposit down (Nov 15). I had been waiting for Nautical Blue or Lunar Rock ORP... but he said this Pro was going at MSRP... It was already on the ship for a week or so before then. It arrived in the port on 1 Dec, and at the dealer on 10 Dec. I picked it up on 11 Dec.

 

I wish Toyota gave some thought to the LR abbreviation for the 21 and 22 Pro's. It was so easy to say 2021 LR Pro. Now Lunar Rock or Lime Rush Pro will have to be spelled out! First world problems!

And that’s ok. I was just saying at a potential buyers pov it sucks when you call and it’s already sold. I’m new to all of this bc I’ve always bought a vehicle off lot so this is always a learning experience!

 

It really is a hit and miss and you've gotta be there at the right place at the right time. Getting a pro in under 30days and at MRSP in this day and age is a WIN!! After I had purchased my ORP, I did call around locally to inquire about a Pro. Found one but it was marked up so I didn't inquire anymore. Didn't want to bother w/ the BS negotiations with them. Most dealers are only receiving the LR Pro. I haven't found a white 22 pro yet or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough lol.

 

It is hit or miss, and you have to keep at it! Some of these fall thru the cracks! I was constantly checking websites and inquiring. Checked a local dealer's website at 10:00 pm on a Friday and it showed two 4Runners. Randomly checked it again around 12:00 pm the next day and it showed four 4Runners. One of the new entries was a Lunar Rock Pro that was ordered by someone else, but that buyer found one elsewhere. I happened to be the first to inquire. That was May 8th and it was scheduled to arrive at the dealer on 5/19. It came early on 5/13. The sales rep said they had a ton of calls on that vehicle after I had locked it up. Paid $2,000 above MSRP.

 

Reading through these last few posts, I see there are a few people looking for a lime green pro. I just picked up my SR5 today and my dealer has one and my sales guy just told me the buyer fell through so it is for sale. It's in upstate NY and I can give you more info if you pm me. They are selling at MSRP (which is i believe $54).

I know I saw that! Right at my price range too. NY a little bit of a drive. Plus I really like my salesperson, so I believe I'm gonna wait, but thanks!

 

How do you know the salesperson over at NY wouldn't be better ? Its always fun to take a little road trip. I'm sure your BF would love to go see it's new competition . Consider it a little weekend vacation.

 

Knowing my luck we'd get there and it would be sold. lol. I can tell there's a little green envy coming from his direction lol

 

Salesman almost seems pointless in this instance. I mean they are not charging more than MSRP but they are not taking less than that either. It's almost like buying a shirt from Macy's.

 

If a deposit is placed, it should be secured! Could be your early xmas gift to your bf (cough cough), "yourself" I meant!
