It's in. I have to clean up the wiring, but it works. I'm going to drive to a park and see how it looks pointing into a field or into the woods. More pics later...

One thing that kinda sucked was that the mounting slots in the bumper were just a bit too close together. I had to "adjust" them with a mallet and a pliers.

    20200915_183254_HDR.jpg

I got the Caliraised OEM style switch in, but it's sticking a bit. I might have to take a little material off of the switch or the opening to make it work better.

I bought the wrong sized Cali light switch for mine. Have to try again soon.

The electrical I do for friends always looks good. :)

But, for some reason, mine always looks half finished.

I wasn't as impressed until I focused on the trees in the distance. The treeline straight in front of the 4runner is actually about 450-500' away. It doesn't look like it, but it is.

I think it will come in handy when I'm way in the boonies at night, or trail riding at night. I tried walking way in front of it and taking a picture of the front end with all of the lights on, but the camera couldn't capture it. It just looked blurry. But, it looks like an angry robot. :D

Yep, it gets you the distance. I pretty much only use mine if I’m doing 45+

Go on a backroad sometime and see how far away you can see road signs. I’ve had mine reflect signs over a half mile out.

also I’ve come to find out, having all these lumens the deer don’t know what to do and actually get outta the way instead of standing there like idiots.

At least I might be able to see the deer further out, and prepare for them to jump in front of me.

I can't wait to take a ride on the back roads with it! I'll make sure to pay attention to the signs.

All done! Used all M6 hardware so it is all 10mm and I plasti dipped the aluminum because I wanted it to match the interior. I think it came out well.

yeah. It’s the same size as the holes for mounting in the truck so it all is the same thread which is nice.

I was originally supposed to go to an event this past weekend, but I decided to skip it for a few reasons. I was a little disappointed once the weekend came and went, but suddenly feel better about it. o_O

That's what it sounds like. Unless the test was performed before and they got the results afterward??

That's pretty lousy if they knew and attended anyway.

It's going to be an interesting chain of emails over the next few weeks.

That seems to be happening a lot. People get a test and just go about normal life (if they can) while waiting on test results.. it’s really shitty.

On another note, I ordered a nice fuel can. I don't really have a proper place to keep it yet, but I figured it was worth having for future adventures.

Be sure to get the nozzle or a siphon. The carb compliant nozzle sucks (as they all do)

or just tear it apart to get rid of the thing you gotta push on

Either one will work, the one linked is the one I have. I threw all the carb ones in the trash after trying them once.

Only to test it out, really. I'll be up north in a few weeks and will definitely report my experience.:)

I blew some money traveling around with some old friends this weekend, if it makes you feel better! :D
