Good as new! Hopefully the next time I spend money on this thing, it's on something fun!:)

That said, it's nice to know people who know how to do things!

How's that sleeping platform working out for you? Enough storage underneath?

I'm more concerned about the height above to the headliner.... I'm not claustrophobic but it looks like minimal room, uncomfortable to change clothes, etc.

    How have you found it?

The storage is ample for the necessities. I'm still quite satisfied with it, to the extent that I'm trying to find excuses to use it more.

The headroom is a little tight. Especially with fishing rods hanging from the ceiling. It actually doesn't bother me at all. But, I feel like I should mention it

You pretty much have to change clothes outside of the truck, unless you're a ninja.

It must be a heck of a lot cooler up there than it is here. 105 heat index currently.

It's been mid-upper 80's. Heat index of 99° today. We've been in the water as much as possible.

I took my brother, his wife, my nephew and niece down the old easement road to the beach in the 4runner yesterday. On the way back I went through some puddles on the beach and everyone seemed entertained.

Here's a cool picture of the Rigid ditch lights in action on the beach. It's a bit blurry, but you can see how they really light up the area around the 4runner. My brother was extremely impressed with them as well.

I'm not a big fan of the top of hood mounting points in general, but the light pattern looks awesome! What do the light units look like and what is their configuration & output?

They're Rigid D-SS series ditch lights, driving pattern. I'll look for a good picture of them.

I've heard some say that the glare on the hood is bothersome, but I hardly notice it. They basically make it seem like daylight for about 50' around the truck. They're great for going through the woods at night!

I intend to compliment them with a bumper mounted light bar eventually. But, now I'm spoiled and won't settle for anything but Rigid. So, the 20" light bar I'm looking at is like $700.

Do the light bars in the grill give longer throw (distance vision) than the headlights? Or are they more for illuminating the ground in front of the truck?

It depends which beam pattern you choose. Rigid offers spot, flood, and driving patterns on most of their lights. These are bright near the truck, so I might go for the spot pattern with the light bar.

Home depot had the aluminum. I got the rod rack at Bass Pro in Fort Myers while on vacation down there. It's a Rod Saver rack. I doubled up the aluminum to keep it from sagging.

From what I’ve seen, people that complain about hood glare have mounts that are straight up instead of offset. Rich complained about hood glare on his truck but after swapping the brackets has no complaints

I’ve got the flood spot combo bar on my truck. The distance you get is pretty ridiculous

keep an eye out on the BST forums. I got my amber SR30 for like $400 new in box.

Awesome! That is the combo I was considering. Or, the driving pattern. What size bar do you have? I believe my bumper fits a 20" bar.

I’ve got a 30”, just because thats what fits the spot on my truck.

I’d go with a spot / flood or spot only light. You probably dont need the spread from the driving beam when you already have the duallys.

Or the other option is to get an amber bar, then I’d get flood or driving since you’d be running that without the duallys.

I’ve got one of each and i still use my duallys the most.

I ordered a new CB antenna: Firestik II with tunable tip and a magnet mount until I figure out a permanent mount solution.

I might need @Ajmogen to help me dial it in.

    Screenshot_20200802-001627(1).jpg

EDIT: after reading the manufacturer's website, I changed my order to the 3' antenna as that's the longest they recommended with the magnet mount. I also added a spring.

There is an inexpensive one on Amazon I could order. The process seems easy enough.

What I'm curious about is if I tune it, and then switch out roof racks, will I need to buy another one to tune to the different setup? I fully intend on having a different roof rack... Eventually.

I suppose the cost is reasonable enough that I could just start over then. Maybe we'll all be running GSMR by then..

I've got one, I need to find it anyway. If you want to order it, it's a nice tool to have.

The hardest part is finding a spot to make the adjustment. Have to be wide open with no obstructions and relatively flat.

And you won't have to buy anything if you change racks

Nice! I was thinking there's probably a good spot in that area with all of the farms. Looks like I may have to visit soon.
