Has anyone ever noticed that the steering wheel on the 5th gen 4r is angled? (not up and down or in and out, I'm talking about angled in left to right) The right side (cruise c side) is closer to the dash than the left by 1/2 inch. I asked the guys in the shop at the dealership if they new why and got in several 23 4r's and they are all the same. Just wondering if anyone knows why or has ever noticed it? Thx

Are you sure it's not the dash?

Honestly idk I was wondering if anyone knew, I mean the dash seems straight and I don't recall the 22 t4r being like that, but I will say it's my wife's ride and I didn't drive the last one much. On this 23 though it stood right out. Maybe the dash is curved a smidge.

Sarcastically pointing out that your post hadn’t garnered a response in only 3½ hours. Early Sunday morning. Entitled much?

When I increase the angle to the left my 4runner turns left. Similarly when I turn it to the right

Do you mean the angle of the column is not straight to you in the seat? There’s not going to be a fix for that unless you reengineer the column mount and possibly the entire dash.

If you mean the wheel is rotated then it’s an alignment issue.

I’m not sure why people can’t just drive their vehicles unless it’s a real problem.

Apparently there's a whole bunch of smartasses out there. I was simply asking if anyone had ever noticed and if there was a reason. I will say for a post no one is paying attention to a couple of y'all must not have anything better to do. To that I'll say #GAL. To the rest that have replied with something interesting to say, the more I look at it the more it seems the dash is slightly angled, like a few degrees which would make sense the wheel would be angled. But don't let me take up anyone else's time. I know this, my 22 tundra and every other toyota I've had never had an angle to the wheel. Sorry to disturb your continuous monitoring of 4runners.com looking to be an ass! F-boys

Lots of cars have steering columns that have a slight angle to them. My ‘13 Camaro is probably a bit more pronounced than the 4Runner. Non issue really.

Yeah I guess I just never noticed b4 in any other vehicles I've had, but yeah it's not an issue and doesn't affect anything, drives great, was just curious if it was a design thing or whatever that toyota did for a reason. Absolutely not a biggie. Thx.

It bothered me the first time I noticed it but must be a packaging thing.
