Yes doing a head gasket job on a friend's 70 El Camino. Took heads off, sent to machine shop for resurfacing. Heads are back on, just doing some odds and ends.

Sounds good on the dirt biking. Just picked up a Honda XR80 to put around on. Can't wait to get out there. Cheers!

Got down on a GX460. Front and rear Dobinsons IMS, dob rear coils, dob UCA's. Also Treaty Oak KDSS spacers. Rides like a dream now.

Dave threw on this load leveling system on the rear of my KDSS rig. Easily adjustable, and comes with bump stops. Way more progressive and rides way better overall. Very happy.
    Thanks SD! See you soon.

Hi Dave! Are you open to doing engine swaps? I'm thinking of doing the 3.4 swap into my 2nd gen 4runner and have been looking around for a mechanic who would take on such a task.

Hey there. I don't typically take on large projects like an engine swap. Sorry man, hope you can find someone that is willing and able. That's a great motor to swap in your truck by the way.

@Superdave1.0, since I'd never be able to get out your way, I thought I'd ask what your favorite tips and tricks would be for installing front coils & shocks on a KDSS rig...if you're willing to share.

I try to keep things simple by not removing things if they don't have to be removed. If the customer is not adding KDSS spacers, I try to install the coilovers without removing KDSS mounting brackets. This makes coilover install harder, but less chance of having issues lining up the KDSS mounting brackets afterwards. A long piece of wood or two can help leverage the lower control arm down to aid coilover install. 2 people working together make this part much easier.

With that said, I have never had a problem lining things back up when it's necessary to remove the KDSS mounting brackets. I also do not open the valves that some folks recommend.

Thanks, I appreciate that. By 'KDSS mounting brackets', do you mean the swaybar mounting brackets on the LCA (which is what I disconnected, after strapping the KDSS cylinder), or the brackets under the DS cylinder & PS link?

If needed, I normally disconnect at the cylinder and link. Not at the control arms. I use a jack to slowly let the cylinder/ram down before removing the bolts.

Installed a beautiful suspension set up today, on a 5th gen 4Runner. Bilstein 8112 and 8100.

    Oh man! Looks awesome!

How long did the owner have to wait to get those shocks?

Any ride reports from you or the owner?

Hey hey. Not sure how long they waited. Definitely not a common shock choice.

The ride was super nice when I test drove it. Softer than a bilstein 6112 for normal driving. I'm sure offroad it would stiffen up when pushed, and surpass 5100 or 6112.

Clutch job on a 1995 4runner. 3.0 4x4 MT. Cleaned inside the bell housing. It was nasty in there from a rear main seal leak.

Here to vouch for Dave’s work! Prior to recently purchasing my 2011 4R SR5P, I had a 2006 Tacoma DCLB. Dave installed my full suspension (Bilsteins, OME springs [which he adjusted multiple times], Icon RXT leafpack, etc.), full brake swap, fluid flushes, wheel bearing replacement, sway bar end link upgrades, and countless other mods/maintenance. I can’t wait for the 4R to get work done by him. Happy to see you on this side of the Toyota forums, Dave.

4runner TRD PRO spring upgrade front and rear. Eibach springs. If it were my truck, I'd want this over the Wescott lift.
