Starts then shuts off

2006 v8, starts up runs for a couple seconds and shuts off. Sometimes it will rev high then shut off. Replaced fuel filters and pump. Same thing. Oddly it will start 4 to 5 times in a course of a day and then go back into this sequence. It’s at the 3rd repair shop, I’m in Puerto Rico, towed 3 times. Everyone is kind of lost.
Any suggestions will be well taken.

It could have a clogged mass air flow(MAF) sensor, or its backwards.

Find a top mechanic to diagnose or you will be going on with this issue for 20 years.

I have a 2005 4runner with 150,000 miles. starts and runs with one key switch turn (since new).
Only parts replaced have been (3) starters - which lasted 4 years each time.
OEM WP and alternator. Tranny shifts like new still.
Tranny Fluid changed 1 time by dealer at 100,000 miles
6 quarts D/F. Tranny holds 12 quarts.
I use Type IV which came with the car
and dealer used (according to their
receipt) it at 100,000 miles D/F

Oil gets changed every 5000 miles in my driveway
here in Nassau Bahamas

You may be using WS. Check carefully before you change.

House with 2car garage is in gated community of Sandyport and I have my own boat ship so when I sell new owner gets a boat slip.

 

Check if the throttle body is dirty. The ECU learns to compensate for this over time. If you disconnect the battery for awhile it restores factory setting, and it will not stay running. The fact it is intermittent makes it seem likely that something else is wrong, but this is easy to check and fix.

Also check vacuum lines and intake tubing for leaks.
